I usually buy a different brand of yak chews for my German Shepherd who’s a tough chewer. He absolutely loves them and they last for a long time even after hours of chewing. I wanted to try this brand because I can get more yak chews per bag with this brand. However when I got the package I was very disappointed. All of the chews where broken into pieces much too small for my German Shepherd to eat and would be a choking hazard. I double checked to make sure I hadn’t accidentally ordered the small chews and that was not the case. The sticker says Large chews. Thankfully my dog has some small dog friends that we could share with but now I have to buy more for him ... show more

Our almost 1 year old Jack Russell, Lando absolutely loves his yak snax (he knows what they are)! It is great mental and physical stimulation for this energizer bunny of a pup! We keep his new ones in the fridge, so they are fresh and cool on his mouth when he is given a new one and chews on them like he is burrowing to the center of the earth! When he gnaws them down to a small chunk, he will sit patiently waiting for the microwave to create a puff snack for him. The anticipation is a big treat for him. I have told so many people about these sticks and they are all buying them now. Very satisfying! My pup gets all excited when she's down the last couple inches and I tell her time for crunchy time. She waits for me to pop it in the microwave and cool off in the freezer.

We bought a single chew to see if my dog Koda would like it. He has been pretty down lately and needed some mental stimulation. He absolutely adored it. We used it as a treat and he had it for about 6 or so days. But he loved it so much that when he was done I bought a 1lb bag and signed up for it to be auto delivered every month! He isn't chewing balls until they break anymore, he isn't as anxious when he is chewing on it. It's been great for him! We get the medium chews, he is a alaskan husky mutt and about 35 pounds. I usually order another brand chews but decided to give these a try. I didn’t like that it is sold by pound so I didn’t know size of chew. When they got here all the pieces were different sizes. It’s important for me to give my rescues only healthy things to eat. Raw hide is dangerous for dogs intestinal tract and so many “treats” are loaded with chemicals for “freshness/flavour/smell”. My rescue usually only uses raw carrots and bully sticks for the treat time however after researching a little on these treats, I decided to try them. The dogs were occupied and happy for quite a while with them! One dog is a known chewer: he can demolish a12” bully stick in under ten minutes. He was happy with one of these yak treats for 25 min :) and didn’t go looking for more when he was done. Another dog, a pittie mix that can usually go through a bully stick braid in 10-15 min was also happy with this talk treat for 15 minutes and didn’t ask for another. All around I’m very happy with this treat for my rescue and will continue to use them for the dogs’ health and happiness. I have ordered these from amazon a few times and have not been disappointed by the quality. My dog loves them, it keeps him busy, and they don’t have a strong odor. The only reason I am not giving them a fove star is because my last purchase came with chews that were half the size of the other ones, my dog is 50lb and is a power chewer. For his safety I will be soaking the shorter ones for five minutes and puffing them up in the microwave for 30 seconds. ... show more

Originally received 4 pounds when I ordered 5pounds. Tried to return but unable to since it is dog food/treats. I sent a message to seller and they are willing to replace. Will order again. Our pups really enjoy these yak sticks!
