I came across this sax and decided to get it. I have never played the sax before this purchase but have been wanting to as I love the sound that comes from a nice saxophone. This kit comes with everything you need to get started playing the alto saxophone. I have been playing for about a week (not counting days off) and can play a couple basic songs, and multi octave scales. Right out of the box the sax looks beautiful, it has hand etched patterns and a nice lacquer finish. It was relatively easy to learn how to hold this instrument and play it, however some of the accessories included are pretty bad. The mouthpiece and reeds that come in this kit are not the best and produce a cheap sound, but if you change the mouthpiece and reeds out the sound completely transforms. In addition, the neck straps that come in this kit are garbage. I would recommend getting a leather strap. The saxophone it self is beautiful and surprisingly really good quality. It feels about the same as a multi-thousand dollar name brand sax. I have not had any issues with the keys sticking and the response is very pleasant. If you have never played saxophone before but want to start, this is the perfect kit for you! The price is very affordable and provides good value for what you are getting. ... show more

This Alto Saxophone is pretty nice! I got it for my teenage son who was interested in learning to play, as he plays many different instruments. It's great for a beginner like him, but I wouldn't say it's for an advanced level player. It comes in a nice case with plenty of accessories and a reed already inserted. It has a shiny gold finish, but it's not as nice as I expected, the quality is decent. But it does sound good and everything works, so that's what really matters. We were hopeful because we’re broke but it’s not worth it and straight up embarrassed my daughter at band. I am however grateful they paused a refund upon return. It may be worth it for learning at home or private beginner lessons but in school band my daughter wads horridly disappointed.

Very very entry level sax. I was expected the absolute top of the line, but this isn't a cheap purchase. Definitely doesn't livew up to the expectation. all around cheap feeling. The case is nice and has the perfect space for everything but Id rather go with another option.

This review is for the Eb Alto Saxophone with F# Key, Canvas Case, Gloves, Reeds, Carekit(Black Body and Gold Lacquer Keys). I ordered this so that I could teach my nephew how to play the saxophone. I did not want to give him one of my "good" ones until after I found out if this was something he was serious about. First, use your own reeds. This came with a reed already installed in the mouthpiece along with a package of additional reeds. Never keep your reed in the mouthpiece. The reeds were not great quality, and I found that simply using a decent reed made all the difference. Second, the cap is attached to a cleaning wand. Keep pulling, you won't break it. Third, the cork grease was in an unlabeled chapstick tube, but it did work. This sax plays surprisingly well and comes with additional supplies. I played an excellent rendition of Caseless Whisper with just adding one of my own reeds, so the bones of this sax are good. ... show more

I am a jack-of-all-trades musician and got this saxophone to try out. I've never played sax before but I have a few friends who play and they tell me it seems fine for beginners. I'm still working on learning how to play it, but I can get notes out without much trouble. The instrument looks nice, not pro-level but nice.
