Good beginner sax! For the money it is well worth it; if you decide to continue playing you can upgrade but why spend more than you have to in the beginning! I order the purple because I lived the look - it did not disappoint! Recommend upgrading mouthpiece to a Yamaha 4c and definitely get Ricco or Vandoren Reeds (I use 2.5). The kit doesn’t come with cork grease so add that to your order. And a softer neck strap will encourage longer practice sessions - the one that comes with the sax was not comfortable after about 15 minutes of play. Add a few more dollars for a cleaning kit and you have everything you need - the rest is all you! 😎 ... show more

I'm teaching myself how to play the sax and this looks sleek and sexy. It's a little difficult, but I'll give myself two months and all will be great. Will add a video to this later. My son could already play violin as well as knowing his way around a guitar and bass. He had said a few times he thought saxophone sounded cool. So, we ventured into the wind instruments for Christmas. With a couple of Youtube videos, he was assembled and making a tune. In a week, he was belting out classic riffs from Baker's Street, Careless Whisper. A month later, he suddenly busted out the Cantina song from the original Star Wars by ear. We were all amazed how easy the sax is to learn. It's like the old school recorder you learn in elementary school, but with awesome sound and flash. No regrets! Truly a lifetime possession. Buy a wall mount and if the person gets bored with it eventually, it is still a great wall piece and memory for that period of life. ... show more

This is a classy looking sax. (Black and Gold) It has a bright sound and all the movement seems tight and smooth. The case is soft sided but sturdy and has backpack straps in addition to standard top and side handles. A quality package for a reasonable price.
