  • Better than expected
This actually wasn’t my first choice, wanted a turbo timber evo but they were on back order. Glad they were because this thing is amazing. Been flying at the river and it’s such a graceful flyer to at looks very scale in the air and on the water. Also has tons of power and agility on 4s and high rates. Love it so far! ... show more

  • **UPDATE** I missed it so much I had to buy another!
**UPDATE** I missed the Maule so much I had to buy another one. After almost a year, I gave it another shot after it went on sale. This one has been at the level of quality I expect from EFlite, on par with other models I own from them. This plane looks amazing in the sky, very scale. It’s heavy but that gives it a very solid feel in the sky and more scale flight characteristics. I’m willing to deal with the gear that bend every other landing. ORIGINAL I bounced back and forth for a long time trying to choose the right plane for my upgrade from the UMX Turbo Timber (which has been awesome). I loved the scale looks, lots of great reviews, top battery load that holds a 3200 4s. This plane appears to be a “Covid build”, meaning too many quality issues for me to over look. First thing I noticed was the tail wheel bracket was attached crooked causing the wheel to lay to one side, and in addition one of the main wheels was excessively wonky and did not rotate smooth. Second was during wing assembly, I had to depress some of the wing foam where it meets the fuselage to allow the bolt holes to line up. Third the tail servos appear to have the horn off a tooth, adjustments were waaay off. Fourth, the ESC in this plane is not accessible. But at least on this plane, is not attached. Can hear it rolling around inside. Fifth was the final straw, no matter what method or tricks I tried, the ESC will not arm during binding. All control surfaces work but no beeps from the ESC and no throttle. I reached out to Horizon Hobby. If I could be assured a better quality build, I’d accept an exchange because it’s a cool plane. But this was not worth 300 dollars. ... show more

  • Awesome plane
The maule is a great plane, I have had good experiences with all of my eflite planes. I wouldn't recommend a beginner fly it, just because it's larger and more costly than some beginners out there (I recommend an aeroscout to most beginners - it's what I learned on). The floats are nice and big, and the whole package is very nice and scale looking; really beautiful plane. Some things to note are the servos are quite chatty. They make me nervos but have worked fine. Also, 8 find the plane to be nose heavy. Especially with a 4s battery. I added some weight to the tail, which was particularly necessary for lake flying. I had it tip over and had to rescue it once (before adding weight). Also before the added weight it kept flipping on its nose during grass landings. I didn't have this trouble when asphalt landings. It's a great plane that is super solid and fairly easy to fly, even in decent wind ... show more

  • Motor will not turn on!
As other have noted I could not get my motor to turn on. After careful looking I found that none of the motor wires were not plugged into the speed control. I had to cut in a small access hatch at the bottom of the cowl to plug in the wires.

  • Flys well, until the OEM plastic servos fail
Flew like a champ, until the crappy plastic servos failed. She crashed badly after an aileron locked up and caused a death-spin to the dirt. Rebuilt her with lots of hot-glue and new metal-gear servos.

  • Very realistic flying.
flies well on 3 cell battery, better on 4 cells.
