    • It works if you follow the directions
I've used this dye three times - to dye faded grey jeans to blue, and to dye clothes back to black. You need to read the directions and have enough dye to dye the amount of clothes. The first time, I didn't order enough dye, so the 2nd & 3rd times I bought 3 blue pods to dye 2 pairs of jeans, and 5 pods to dye 2 pairs of black jeans & a shirt. I have a front loading washing machine. I followed the instructions as given, washing the clothes first. Because I had multiple pods, I opened up the pods & poured the contents of the pods directly in the machine (this is what the instructions say). I used gloves the entire time as the dyes will stain your hands. I ran 4 loads total. To get the dyes out of the washing machine, I used bleach in the last cycle I ran. I also had to wipe down the washing machine with paper towels that had bleach on them. The dye job was perfect and I'm buying more black dye now for another set of clothes. YES buy this if you have a front loading machine. ... show more

Unfortunately my pants went from faded black not too faded since they were new but had been washed once to a weird purplish color even tho the dye was intense black honestly a waste of money I've used rit dye on the same brand pants just an older pair and they actually turned black so thanks for a ruined pair of pants 10/ 10 wouldn't recommend ... show more

I’m not sure what these are meant to do maybe just revive worn out black clothing but I bought it because I’m a hairdresser and I have a lot of bleach stains on my black clothes and I hoped this would cover them but it didn’t do that I don’t really know what it did, maybe In a less severe situation they would be good ... show more

    • Not as as intense black as I had hoped...
...but I later read on cloth-dyeing forums, for the deep blacks, use much more than you think you need (like double). I tried this pod in my top-loading washing machine. Followed all the instructions and very easy to use. I wish the manufacturer would have also suggested to double-up on the amount of dye needed to get the intense black. I'd buy this product again, but next time I'll double the amount. ... show more
