  • Decent Light for Now
So I just received this item and I already have a more expensive grow light and thought meh for $40 this won’t break the bank. So first off this thing is cheap China made. You can totally tell. Hence why the warning label is riddled with typos. That being said it did not immediately catch fire when I plugged it in so it might be alright. From the pictures you can tell it’s very bright. It will be perfect for my hydro spinach. Also no idea if I just got a lemon, but I had to bend the metal to get the bulbs inside in order to plug them in. The finally fit but only after some struggle. Will update if there are issues down the line. ... show more

  • Prone to blowing up/shorting apparently.
The build quality seems to be good, however, when I powered it on, there was a violent short with one of the included chain hooks for mounting. After a loud bang, a spark, and a few wisps of smoke I realized that it had triggered the breakers, and had also left a sizable chunk gouged out of the mounting hook. While the material quality is decent, the circuit design and safety considerations are apparently not adequate. I cannot recommend this product for safe and reliable use, or any use at all quite honestly. ... show more

  • Great for my chameleon, uses 22 inch bulbs
I had this before for my chameleon but a lightning strike in our backyard sent a surge of electricity through the house and fried it. I like this better than standard reptile lamps because of the large reflector inside... it gives so much light. So I ordered another one and put a UVB bulb in it for the chameleon and used one of the plant bulbs that came with the lamp (it came with 2). A+ the price is right.... Take note: the size of the bulbs this thing uses are 22 inch -NOT 24 inch bulbs ... show more

  • Danger, danger, danger
While inserting the "S" hook into the housing, it fell into the housing and shorted out the ground fault interrupter (GFI). The S hook was still sticking out of the housing. If I had been holding the chain with the "S" hook attached and there was no GFI, I could have been electrocuted. Even with a snap hook, dropping into the housing would cause a short since it only needs to drop about 1/4". This is a faulty design and should not be sold. ... show more

  • Nice and Bright Now
DuroLux DL822N T5 HO 2Ft 2 Fluorescent Lamps I bought these to add a bit of extra light on the sides of an indoor garden. To be honest -- I didn;t need direction for this install -- It came very well packaged -- the outer box and each fixture came in 2 boxes -- no chance of breakage as I've experienced in the past from other vendors. Most importantly my plants are super happy...........if the lights crap out -- I'll come back and update my review. ... show more

  • Excellent purchase
Well constructed and very bright. Mounted using a Hydrofarm Jump Start frame. Super combination with a heat mat. Four dozen+ seedlings sprouting faster than any previous season. I should have done this years ago. The light fixture is far superior to any I had seen.

  • Solid product for a great price
These lights do what they promise. They came well boxed and undamaged, were easy to install and have worked reliably for about six weeks now. I have them on a timer, running 14 hours a day. The reflector is a great feature, especially for the prices. I'm about to buy three more!

  • Alright for now
It's ok for now. I will update probably after three months with a more accurate review. But for now my first impression is that it's just alright. I feel like the photos have been doctored because the bulbs are extremely small and not nearly as large as they look in the pictures. It seems to in fact be a cool blue light which is what I wanted. Now we wait and see for long-term results. Edit: 6 week update. It blew the breaker and I had to find the breaker switches in the dark. All because it swayed the tiniest little bit while hanging. The design is horrible but it works as intended. I have set it on top of a wire shelf and don't even bother with the hanging chain anymore. It's just a terrible design and it sparked really bad and almost burned through the metal. It smelled pretty bad and the chain was blackened at the slightest swaying of the light fixture. Do not recommend if you have kids running around the house with vibrations or are in an earthquake zone. ... show more
