  • Good stuff for older vehicle
Size: 11 Ounce (Pack of 1) Style: Matte Color: Midnight Blue
If you are looking for a professional looking type of job this isn’t for you. But if you want to just get job done it’s great for price and ease of use. I have an old Jeep. 15 years old. Paint on roof and hood is starting to fade a bit in a few spots. I’m trying to avoid it rusting as long as possible. This stuff did the trick good enough. Without paying thousands on some pro paint job. I lightly sanded around the faded areas. Washed it and dried it real good. Waited until I had few days of good sunny weather. Sprayed a few coats of this on each faded spot. Dried up good and hasn’t faded yet. Holding up good. Color matched close enough too. Not perfect but again this is a 15 year old jeep I use as an extra vehicle to get me from A to B. ... show more

  • No way to leave a Zero Star review
Size: 11.02 Ounce (Pack of 1) Style: Lens Tint Color: Smoke
Smoke Lens tint. This stuff is absolute trash. If anyone wants to know, it will not work for headlights. I know you wanted to try it for that, so did I. But the awfulness of this product goes well beyond not working on headlights. First can, pushed the nozzle to dispense and it broke off shooting this stuff all over my car and garage. Cool. $17 down the drain. And unless you get good coverage, it's a major PITA to remove. Buy 2 more cans. Don't pay any attention to the can where it says masking isn't necessary. If you don't mask the entire side of the car you're working on, there will be a lot A LOT of rubbing your finish with an old towel to remove the overspray. Masking will make you slightly less disappointed at the finished product. So...it sprays like spray paint. I guess that's a bonus. If you know how to use a can of spray paint properly, I guess it applies okay. Even on a fresh can, it sprays out the occasional bubble or glob, and it does not dry smooth, so if you get one heavy droplet or bubble, the whole finish of the lens is screwed. No amount of can angle or smooth sweeping movements, fast or slow would change that terrible output. By this point, I was resigned to peeling it off and trying on fresh lenses, but after dumping a whole can on the 2 lenses with no even half-decent results, I gave up. It doesn't dry smooth or glossy, it looks like that haze you get on 20 year old acrylic headlights, only in gray rather than haze yellow. Light barely penetrates it if you apply enough to make it kinda sorta dark. It's just a trash product. Waste of money, use air tint. ... show more

  • Good but tough to peel
Size: 14 Ounce (Pack of 1) Style: Wet Look Color: Black
I used about 12 of these kits on my project so I have a pretty good idea of the pros and cons of installation. I can’t speak to the durability just yet since it hasn’t been that long. On a 2012 Audi Q7 I did the rear emblems, wheel center caps, front lower bumper pieces, rear lower bumper, and side rocker moldings. Everything came out really well! I’ll try to answer maybe some of the questions I had before I started, and some things I learned along the way. -It’s glossy and black! I did some test pieces with the original brand and glossifier, while it looked great, the glossifier has a white hue that makes the end color grey. This stuff doesn’t have as deep or smooth gloss to it as the test pieces but it is definitely black. It’s got a little bit of an orange peel texture. -The 2 step method is weird… I still don’t know what it’s all about but it does slow you down and introduces another process and another chance to make a mistake. The prep coat lays down more like spray adhesive than paint. Don’t panic, it’s supposed to be like that apparently, at least all of mine were consistent. Use light light coats in this step. And mind the recoat times in the directions. -The prep coat cures white under the top coat. My concern is if I get scratches and dings on the onyx black they will be magnified by the white underneath. Only time will tell. -Film strength isn’t nearly as good as the original brand. It does peel, but not really that nice. I made the mistake of masking beyond the hard body line and peeling back to get a clean line, which is a common technique with these coatings. It really didn’t work out well, it just kind of comes apart as you peel it. I suspect when it’s time to remove it entirely it will have cured and dried out and should be better to remove. -It’s tacky… Pieces I sprayed weeks ago are slightly sticky to the touch. I’m going to experiment with some different protectants to see if I can get it a little slicker. I’m worried it’s going to collect dirt and wear faster from having to scrub it clean. -The finish coat says it can be constantly recoated… And it can as long as you are paying attention and maintain a minimum wet edge. A little bit of build up and it will run and drip. I have a few little errors, mostly around hard corners where it built up. Overall though, it’s pretty forgiving. -Coverage isn’t great. Here’s what I ended up with on my project. 2 kits per side (about 1ft x 7ft) trim was about right. 3 kits for the rear lower bumper (10ft x 2ft) and I wish I had budgeted 1 more. 1 kit for the wheel centers and rear emblems. 3 kits for the front lower valance pieces. At the time I bought these they were $5 cheaper on Amazon than the local parts store. Overall I’m happy with the results. Hopefully it proves to be reasonably durable. If you’re going for that luxury gloss look on your trim, and your skills with vinyl wrap are limited, this is a great option. ... show more

  • Sprays nice but it's definitely not Sublime
Size: 11 Ounce (Pack of 1) Style: Matte Color: Sublime Green
I had my doubts about the color match. Turns out I was right. The lid is significantly darker than Sublime is, and the product turned out to be even darker than the cap suggests. Seems to be a nice product but calling it Sublime Green isn't accurate.

  • Prep work is key!
1. Start with a CLEAN car. 2. Tape thoroughly! Anything not properly taped WILL end up with overspray on it. This includes door gaps. 3. Make sure you purchase enough cans to cover your project. There are a number of websites or groups on social media that can provide with at least an estimate of how many you need for the size of your vehicle. 4. If something doesnt look right, stop, peel, and start over. In my case, I did not follow my advice, and ended up with some orange peel texture on my hood. Not a big deal to me, but if you're a perfectionist, it might irritate you. 5. If you have large areas to cover, make sure you have enough to cover at once. If the entire film is applied at once, I feel there is a lesser chance of orange peel texture developing. 6. I applied from the bottom of the vehicle up, to reduce the chance of overspray particles settling below the area to be sprayed and possibly contaminating the next area I would move on to. 7. Take your time when peeling the tape once you are finished. I did one final coat about 10 minutes prior to peeling the tape, and for the most part resaturating the film just prior to peeling tape allowed it to peel rather cleanly, though there was one or two spots that did not cleanly separate. ... show more
