The running board paint on my Ford F150 was severely chipped off around the rear wheels. We had an ice storm and I tried to make tire chains for the rear wheels. Well they broke loose and that was that. Cleaned it up, fine sanded the area, and spray painted this on it...can't even tell it was damaged. That was 3 years ago and I don't see any deterioration. I would have to say that this is alright but definitely not a good or even satisfactory paint to spot paint or color match your vehicle. I purchased five cans of this paint from multiple vendors thinking maybe the color was off in one can! Nope, the color is the same in all cans which is a Brilliant Silver which is totally different from the paint code for my vehicle it represents which is 1C0 Millennium Silver. The vehicle I was painting was a 2000 Lexus GS300 sedan and the vehicle code matched the can but when I sprayed the trunk, top and some touch up spots it was definitely too bright of a silver. I even thought maybe my primer color of gray was offsetting the color, but Nope once again! The paint itself comes out of the can really spotty and the metallic flakes are overbearing. It seems as though they added more flake than liquid which makes it difficult to adhere to the vehicle. Also, make sure you are wearing a respirator because the metal flakes will hit the vehicle and disperse in the air rather dramatically! I even layered some coats, but it did not seem to adhere enough and created light highlights against the vehicle panels. I eventually just added three coats of clear to see if it would darken some of the highlights but it amplified them instead! If you're looking for paint code 1C0 to touch up your vehicle; I personally recommend staying away from this product unless you want a clown car with different colors! ... show more

have always used duplicolor for small repairs to paint on various cars i have owned and as long as you carefully research your paint codes and do proper prep, you can get excellent results in fixing paint issues. their quality control is pretty good, but on this order one can came without the nozzle, the seller made this right. highly recommend. ... show more

Style Name: Universal Size: 8 Ounce (Pack of 1) Color: Clear
Used to cover paint on hood of car to protect. Not an expert painter and was doing an artsy project since the car is old and starting to rust. Did the full gambit of painting, sanded hood, primed, sanded again, then painted with Dupli-Color and with other paint for design then clear coated...so here is why I gave this clear coat only 4 stars. 1. It is a nice clear coat but the can is small, wish it came in a regular size can so you have better pressure and so you can do more (I do realize it is made for touch ups). 2. The hood was attached to car and was going to stay that way for my project, hence to do the top of the hood I had to spray almost parallel to the hood and could not "angle" can very much. This required careful planning after I realized that when you get about halfway through the can, it will not spray nicely (at all) if not angled. The can would work great if you could spray perpendicular to the ground to the piece you are spraying. So that being said, had to spray all the flatter areas first with the full can and then progress to the parts where the can could be angled to finish the hood. 3. Read a lot about the humidity and about the hazing that can occur and it did happen. The humidity was only 2pts below the recommended humidity level but it doesn't get much better in the south...so you just have to go for it. Had better results with Sun overhead and humidity only 2pts below recommended level (not much hazing at all, if any) than late afternoon and much lower humidity 6pts lower (this is when I had the worst hazing that is now visible). When it did haze, I waited the recommended 10 minutes between coats and sprayed the hazy parts again, this made it go away...also did not spray as far away as they recommended on the can. Some of the hazing that I had also went away when it was allowed to cure for the 5 days but did have a "streak" left over from the haze that I did not go over (ran out of clear coat). Since I am wet sanding and polishing I am not too worried about it...wish I took a pic to show haze line but forgot to take pictures. Honestly, if I ever did this again I would probably look into how much it would cost to have someone clear coat it for me. 4. Wet-sanding now and it is looking good (not near professional) but what I expected so far. I am not done with project but about 75% done and am happy with the results so far. ... show more
