  • Best ice cleat I have ever used
Size: Large/Extra Large
I love these ice cleats (photo left) I used to buy the spiral wire cleats (photo right) that worked ok on hard packed snow, but are worthless on solid sheet ice. These titanium ice spikes/cleats are the best I have ever used. I live in Alaska so use these to walk the dog every day 6-7 months of the year. Trust me, I’ve tried them all over 32 years I’ve lived in Alaska. Easy to pull on over shoes and boots. Are securely held in place. I’m on about my 3rd or 4th set. I have literally worn out several sets over the years. They even provide a couple of replacement spikes in the rare event one broke. ... show more

  • Practical device
Size: Large/Extra Large
These were bought as a gift but haven't been used yet. I have a pair myself that have worked out well in adding traction in ice and snow.

  • Nice but maybe not for large shoes
Size: Large/Extra Large
I was hired to photograph a hockey pre-game ceremony that required me to be on the ice. I’ve been on the ice with pain shoes before but wanted something with more grip to reduce my risk of falling on the ice. I wear a size 13 tennis shoe and these slip on cleats seemed to be stretched as far as they would go…I mean they fit but seemed like they were going to snap at any moment trying to get them on. I opted to keep these cleats and tried them on some dress shoes with a shorter sole and they weren’t as hard to put on. On the day of the photo shoot, I quickly slipped them on my dress shoes and walked to the center of the hockey rink with no issues. You can hear the spikes piercing the ice which is comforting but time will tell how long they last. ... show more

  • surprisingly effective
Size: Large/Extra Large
On shoe size 11 it appears that this will not work because the spikes are way too far forward on the front. They are not directly on the ball of the foot where they should be. Why were these designed that way, I would like to know, as it seems such a big design flaw. But having experience now with 3 types of traction aids I was quite surprised that the darn things actually work and do so as well as others of a less aggressive type. I can't believe it, but they seem to work comparably to Yaktrax, if not a little better, and this on slick ice. I mark down the stars only because of the apparent misplacement of the spikes. However now I tried them on even slicker ice, and they do not work well. This type of traction aid has it's place, and that place is NOT trail running on super slick ice. ... show more

  • Work great!
Size: Large/Extra Large
These work great for icy sidewalks and parking lots during MN winters. Easy to slip off when entering a building. Fit well over my Sorel winter boots (sz 10 women’s).

  • Used a suitcase strap to get on.
Size: Large/Extra Large
To make these easier to get on, I attached a luggage strap for leverage Put on the toe part first and pulled Then disconnected the straps. Practiced at home in my easy chair. Never used them in the field. Luckily the weather (in Iceland) was above freezing in April. I thought about getting something DRY to stand on and them putting them on the shoe first, and then put the shoes on. Definitely buy a bigger size if you can. They seem to stay on ok. Easy to put on "Caty-wumpus" if not careful. But that should still work ok. I put them on the shoes (not wearing them) and left on for a few days. They stayed on. Thought maybe it would stretch them a bit. Don't know since never tried after that. They went through TSA as checked or unchecked luggage. I liked them, but never tried in the snow or ice. ... show more

  • Good price and versatility
Size: Small/Medium
These are pretty great and they are more gripping than my ice bug hiking boots in a larger variety of weather. I probably prefer the ice bugs in extreme ice, but otherwise I like these more. The only downfall is that sometimes if I'm really trudging through deeper, thicker snow or hiking in the woods the front part of the spike flips up on top of my boot and I have to take my gloves off and fix it. ... show more

  • Good for training runs on black ice.
Size: Large/Extra Large
These make it possible to run on black ice! No, you're not going to run fast with them, but you can at least run without crashing. I'm not sure that I'd trust them on steep hills, but they are pretty secure on flat ground and gentle rollers. Good value. A tip: When putting them on, adjust them so that little spikes are directly under your forefoot. When I used mine for the first time, I found that one foot kept slipping when kicking off the ground, but the other foot was fine. I started wondering if I had a more asymmetric stride than I realized. But it turns out the spikes on the foot that kept slipping were just an inch or so too far forward. The rubber is very stretchy, so I just adjusted them a little, and the slipping stopped immediately. ... show more
