That's both a positive and a negative in my mind. This polisher has a lot of power when you need it, but if you don't bolt this to the floor, you'll be chasing it around your shop - it literally moves because of the high RPM. :-) Not wanting to permanently mount this to my concrete floor, I opted for
bolting it to a large piece of 3/4" plywood which I stand on when operating the unit to prevent it from moving. The polisher is relatively quiet, especially compared to my bench grinder. The extended connecting rods give me the room I need to see what I'm doing and move the piece in whatever direction I need to. Woodskil has created a really cost-effective polisher. I only wish Woodskil would release a model with VARIABLE SPEED!!. All of the variable speed options out there are price-prohibitive for someone that doesn't use the polisher too often, but does have a need to polish at below 3600 rpm.

Better than I expect, excellent for polishing jewelry, very quiet and stable motor. Just $80.00 free shipping. I recommend this buffer machine, (I checked so many buffer machines before buy this one, a lot of time wasted). Great buy.

Have only used 3 times , worked perfect first 2 times , now when turned on it runs slow with no torque, after a couple a couple min. It kicks up and runs like normal . Probly got a POS.

Very well made, well balanced and quiet

I was worried that a polisher of this size might require a massive mount to handle the typical vibrations. So far, it is performing extremely well just sitting on my Workmate. It is working exactly as I had hoped.

Great unit with plenty of power.

I bought this to replace my 1/2 hp 6" model (different brand) when it failed after several years. This thing has some power! I had to buy a stand that I could bolt to the floor to keep it from walking away.
