This stuff works great! I bought a 5 lb bucket, worth every penny! I used more than I thought I would. Keeps my AMS nice and dry in the humid florida weather. Also, it Leo's my 10+ rolls dry before and after use. Things to keep in mind if yout in a humid climate like I am in. This KEEPS your filment dry, but it does not dry your filment. Get a good dryer or dehumidifier before storing/using your filment. Things I wish I know before buying: 1. Buy more than you think you'll need. I bought the 2.5lbs and realized when I got the jug I needed more. So I returned before open9ng and went for the 5lb and have about a quarter left of the bucket. 2. Don't waste your time with the microwave, just dry your silica beads in an oven.(I harder about 12oz of beads.) More room on a cookie sheet and takes an hour max to dry. ... show more

I use this desiccant for my 3D print filaments. I store them in cereal storage boxes and place some desiccant in a tray at the bottom of each one. It works well, keeping the moisture level down. The beads can be recharged in the oven or microwave and used again. Ideal, especially for the filaments I don't use very often. ... show more

Works great for my 3D printer, only reason it isn't 5 stars is that it seems to be picky for recharging. The beads break apart in the microwave even on lower power. I have been able to dry them in my filament dryer with enough time.

Was gone for 3 months during winter and apparently didn't have the car window up tight. Returned home and discovered fluffy mold growing inside. Damp seats, damp floors...a Mess! Purchased this product and found some old nylon "knee-highs' so I put a good amount in 6 of them and placed them on the seats & floor. Each day I'd go out and the orange beads had turned Dark Green. Emptied, put in little bowls in the microwave, back to orange and back in the car. Took awhile to get all the dampness out but everything is dry and looks like nothing ever happened. ... show more

I chose this product over others for the color-changing indicator. Other products I viewed required weighing the product to determine the level of moisture absorption, or weren't easy to reactivate. Calcium chloride tablets, which I tried before, require constant repurchasing and you have to deal with the gross liquid that remains and smells like chemicals. With these silica gel beads, I put about a third of the container in a Toule fabric pouch I made (knee high stockings work just as well!) and let it do it's thing. My digital hygrometer shows a drop in relative humidity (varies based on the weather outside as well, but ranges from 20% to 30% of what it was before placing the new or refreshed beads) in my garden shed. When I check the beads a week later they are green (after two weeks they turn a beautiful emerald green). All I do to reactivate is to place the beads on a baking sheet in my toaster oven using the DEHYDRATE setting. The deeper the green the longer you have to run it , but usually an hour to an hour and a half will do. No smells, no waste, no guessing when it's time to refresh. Great purchase! ... show more

I use these to keep my 3D printing filament dry. They seem to last quite a while (in a air tight box) before needing to be recharged. I haven't tried recharging in the microwave but have had great success following the oven recharging instructions on the bottle.
