Top Amazon Reviews

  • Not Too Bad for the Price
Color: Black
The kvihffosw Drone is a fascinating piece of technology, especially considering its 1080P camera that captures crisp, clear images. The brushless motors are a standout feature, providing smooth and efficient power, which is particularly noticeable when the drone holds its position in light breezes – a task it manages with ease, although caution is advised in winds over 7 mph. The camera's dampening system deserves applause; it does a commendable job of reducing vibrations, ensuring that your aerial footage is as stable as it is stunning. Equipped with three batteries, this drone promises extended flight times, which is a boon for any avid flyer. However, it's worth mentioning that the drone's lightweight build, while enhancing portability, does sacrifice a bit in terms of sturdiness. This is not uncommon in drones at a more accessible price point, but it's something to keep in mind. The video quality is genuinely 1080p, which is quite impressive – there's no trickery with interpolated resolutions here. The obstacle avoidance system is another highlight, reliably detecting solid objects with precision. It's a bit less consistent with more irregular shapes like trees and fences, but the feature that the module only pops up when activated is quite clever, adding a futuristic touch to the overall design. On the downside, the controller and phone holder don't quite match the drone's performance. They feel a bit on the lighter side, and while the controller fits comfortably in average-sized hands, the phone holder's grip is less reassuring. There have been a couple of instances of my phone taking a tumble, so perhaps a more secure design would be beneficial in future iterations. In summary, the kvihffosw Drone with its 1080P camera is a solid choice for those looking to capture high-quality footage without breaking the bank. Its performance in stable conditions is impressive, and the extra batteries are a thoughtful inclusion. Just be mindful of its light build and the less robust controller and phone holder. It's a package that offers good value, with some room for improvement in the next model. ... show more

  • Lots of Capability for Low Cost, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST
Color: Black
For a drone at this price, this one has a lot of capabilities. It is far better than I expected. The Flying Max app is available on Google Play, I think it is also available on the Apple app store, but did not try that. With the app, you can fly the drone without the remote control, using an onscreen remote control and connection via a WIFI direct connection. The drone is completely packed in a case that is inside the box. The case included the drone, 3 batteries, a charging cable for the batteries and the remote, a remote (which I did not actually use,) some extra propellers, a small Phillips screwdriver, and instructions. Lots to like for a drown selling for about $48 with discount. If you get the drone, READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST, I did not and the result was not what you want. I charged the batteries, then used the QR code to download the app which is called Flying Max. I was worried it would be an app that required some sort of sideload and that there might be an onerous sign up process, but neither was the case. I am not sure why they did not include the name and icon for the app with the instructions. The drone connects by a direct ad hoc WIFI connection to your phone or tablet. I was so surprised that the app was on Google Play and allowed full control of the drone without the controller, that I got a little ahead of myself and did not become familiar with the icons on the app before my first indoor trial flight (bad idea.) I pushed the wrong icon and crashed the drone. The crash didn't really do anything to the drone, but it displaced the camera from its mount (the camera is held in place by four silicone grommets (shock absorbers.) I got out the small screwdriver that was supplied and did some disassembly on the drone to get where I could re-attach the camera to the mounts, I found that one of them was missing (I assume it was lost during the crash, but I could not find it.) However, I buttoned up the drone with the camera on three mounts and everything seems to work. I was able to fly it a little and take some video. I included a screen capture of the app control screen in the photos. The app is quite remarkable, if you get all the icons figured out. The drone should be able to fly a course you draw on the screen, automatically return to land, and streams video during flight which is shown on the background of the app. There is a follow me mode as well. Based on my experience, if you want to try your hand at flying a drone and do it inexpensively without sacrificing the basic basic functions of a camera drone, this is a great option for you. ... show more

  • Not Impressed. Flies erratically.
Color: Black
This flies erratically. I was going to say that it's hard to control, but it's not really. Most of the time it's pretty easy to control, but then for no apparent reason, it just has a mind of its own. I crashed this 3 times in 20 minutes. The obstacle sensor is useless, in my opinion. It avoids obstacles, but it slows the drone down to a crawl. So slow that no one would want to fly it with that mode on. It's nice that it has 3 batteries and a case. It did survive all of my crashes and I was able to keep flying it (after I bent the one propeller back). It comes with everything you need, but, in my opinion, this should be $20 or less. It's not that fun to fly, it doesn't do many tricks, the controller is bulky (but it is rechargeable), the buttons are hard to read (see the symbols), and the joystick knobs (top discs) fall off easily. For the price they are charging I would expect much more. ... show more
