  • lightweight.
Color: Blue Frame
I purchased this for my sister who had to go rehab in a skilled nursing facility. She was pretty depressed about her declining health. I ordered this as a surprise and she absolutely loved it! The colors are vibrant and she liked the fact that no one else at the facility had one like it. Being a transport chair, it's very lightweight so it was easy and comfortable for her to sit and maneuver herself around. Be warned...while at the facility she had to go back into the hospital for a couple of days for a additional procedure. While there her doctor decided to send her to a better rehab center than the skilled nursing facility. When we went to collect her things to transfer them over, her transport chair was no where to be found. Shockingly I had to threaten legal action to have it miraculously found by a despicable bunch of so called healthcare workers. I hear theft of residents possessions is not uncommon in care facilities. Now I know why so many families stencil their loved ones name on their equipment. Shameful! ... show more

  • I can lift it!!
Color: Black Frame
We have a regular wheelchair but were going on a trip. The regular one weighs 50 lbs and there is no way I could lift it into our SUV. This chair was great. I can lift it in and out of the car and it slid under the table at a restaurant just like a chair. It doesn't roll as easily as a big-wheeled chair but I was able to push my husband along the boardwalk to see the ocean. It does tip more easily than a full sized chair so no flopping into it to sit unless someone is standing behind it! It folds easily and I am so glad I found it. ... show more

  • "Plug and Play"!
Color: Red Frame
This was the perfect transport chair for mom! It was ready to go right out of the box without needing any assembly. I'm new to the whole transport chair thing, and didn't realize that you can buy such an ultra-light model! My mom is 88 and uses a walker, but this transport chair opens up opportunities to take her more places so she's not house-bound all the time. Because it's lightweight, her friends (also from the Post War generation) are able to handle it and take mom out on adventures! It fit in the back seat and the trunk of my subcompact vehicle. ... show more

  • Great chair, one minor flaw for us.
Color: Blue Frame
We just received this and plan to use it to help an elderly family member just get around when shopping, etc, with family to push the chair for her. First, the great things upon first observation. The chair is light and easy for even an elderly family member to lift and get in the car. It's super comfortable and holds up to 300lbs which is pretty astonishing considering how light the chair is. It is VERY easy to open and close the chair, huge kudos to the manufacturer for the ease of that process. It came completely assembled accept for the foot rests which were just a matter of putting them in place, no tools necessary. It maneuvers very easily and the tires seem well made. There are locks on the foot rests and rear tires. The fabric seems sturdy and there's a nice pocket on the back for a cell phone and another for general stuff. Now the one "not so great" feature. The foot rests go into place simply by placing the brackets over two pins on the frame. It's VERY easy to add the foot rests to the chair and when the foot rests are in use, they pull forward and lock into place which is great. Unfortunately, when it's time to fold up the chair you either have to leave the foot rests sticking out from the front which makes moving the chair difficult, or remove the foot rests all together, otherwise you risk them falling off or flopping around when moving the folded chair. Maybe most people remove them so this isn't an issue, but we don't want to remove the foot rests because it's just an added step and aggravation. If the manufacturer had made it so the foot rests lock in place when they are folded back out of the way this would have been a huge improvement. To solve the issue of them falling off the chair when being moved in the folded position, my husband had to pull the pins out of the chair frame, drill them with holes, put them back in the fram and place cotter pins in the holes. This prevents the bracket from simply sliding off the pins. That modification keeps them from falling off the chair but doesn't keep them from flopping around. We're thinking maybe some bungee cords will solve that problem. It would be simple for the MFG to just add a locking mechanism to the folded state to solve that whole issue. Overall though the first impression of this chair is very good. If it lasts and doesn't fall apart, I'd say you can't go wrong. If the MFG would be responsive to solving the issue with the foot rests, it would be perfect! ... show more
