It’s a 3 inch mattress like advertised , and it’s also has plastic like material covering which is great for water resistant purposes. The plastic like material that covers the whole mattress is soft enough to not bother baby and I’d well put together. I also placed my own water resistant bed cover for extra protection and longevity of the mattress; it has a softer top that’s easy to wash so it softens the mattress texture even more. The mattress fits beautifully in the Play pin , it’s the perfect size ! I have the cheapest graco pack and play they offer hahaha! . I bought this to replace the mattress that came with my Delta Children mini crib, the one it came with was way too soft and the waterproof encasement was too airy and puffy. When I laid my baby on it she would sink into it and leave an indent despite only being 11 pounds. Very unsafe for babies! This mattress is excellent, very firm and no air bubbles in the waterproof cover. Fits the mini crib perfectly. I ordered wrong size by mistake. Mattress is good quality and washable which is perfect for small babies. It is very light weight which is perfect for me)) it is soft and comfortable to lay on. We going to use this mattress in our playground corner for quick nap time

The crib we have came with a thin stiff as cardboard mat that our baby could not sleep well on he would just cry but once we bought this he can finally sleep so well and peacefully. It’s soft yet firm and supports his body so well without him sinking too far into the mattress.
