This "old school" DrainX snake is the best product for clearing drains and pipes of clogs. It is well built with a steel drum, riveted handle (handle will not fall off) and a welded nut for the thumb screw. I bought the version without the handle to fit in smaller sinks. Key thing is to not build up too much twist in the line - let it untwist periodically, especially when you hit an obstruction. Too much built up twist will kink the line, pretty much ruining it. ... show more

Works exactly as advertised, I need more length but it cleaned out everything it reached. I bet you I pulled like 20 wipes out of that drain. Just don't loosen the screw too far or it'll fall in the sewage hole. I had a magnet and retrieved it. Back to 100%. Would recommend even if you don't need itnow. (Basement drain\main). ... show more

Quality of item seems good to me. I would suggest watching some YouTube videos about how to use a manual drain snake. This is what got me to keep at it with the right technique. I probably used around 20+ feet of line to be sure all was cleared even though I brought up a huge mass of hair and gunk on my third try. Basically, this tool is inexpensive yet effective, and it saved me a costly plumber visit. Just remember that if you're a first time drain snake user like me, watch those YouTube videos and keep at it until your drain is clear. ... show more

I bought this for an AC drainage line and it is just wayyyyy too inflexible to use. I went to shove it through and on the first 90 degree bend it got stuck 8 inches in. I don't need a snake for the first 8 inches....please reconsider the super strong reinforced steel or whatever is advertised for something more pliable for your next design. the other features and accessories seemed super well thought out too but just doesn't get the job done. ... show more
