    • Save Yourself a Call and Some Money

I've had a few different plumbing issues over the last year and I've had to call a plumber for both of them. Both needing the same thing... clear out a clogged pipe. Now the 2nd time it was about 180' into the pipe so this item wouldn't have been long enough at the time. However, a couple of months before I had to call I noticed one of our drains not draining as expected out of our shower. I can almost guarantee you if I'd had this tool then I could have snaked it down the drain and done some initial clearing that would have helped keep the pipe clear instead of allowing blockage to flow further down the pipes and cause a far more expensive problem. I'm now going to have this along with a regular regimen of using some organic enzymes to regularly flush through the pipes and keep things flowing smoothly. ... show more

I did not receive the kit. I received the snake only. It works fairly well. I did not have any issues when using it for many tries. Nothing has broken on it and it is pretty sturdy. I just used it by hand and had no issues. It does its job and I got a lot of clogs out of my drain with it. Overall, impressed with it, it saves you a lot of money. It does the job if you just need a simple snake for your problem. I do not have the auger kit - so please note that this is no longer for the product I have and I am only knowledgeable about the snake component. ... show more

This auger is good for simple clogs as the hand crank works fairly well and seems to properly move through the drain and make it through common angles. The "drill attachment" is literally just a round rod so the standard chuck of most drills will be a pain to use with it because it will slip against any resistance. For less than $70 versus what you will pay a plumber these days makes it more than worthwhile to give this a try on any clog before bothering to call a professional. Also, this design makes it very unlikely that you could cause anything worsen even if you don't clear the blockage. ... show more

    • Super Handy Tool To Have In Your Home In Order To Save Serious Money

Have you seen what a plumber charges these days to unclog a simple drain clog? In many metropolitan areas you’ll be paying anywhere from $150-$250 per hour. In our kitchen we have a stubborn clog in our drain that happens every year or so. I believe this is due to the angle of our pipes causing grease buildup. At any rate, during our last call to plumber we spent $425.00 to resolve it. Never again. Enter this reasonably priced tool to the rescue. Our clogs are almost always within 50’ and this drain auger works perfectly for our home. I ended up using it earlier today and attached my cordless drill to it and easily ran it through our pipes. This time it was done to test this auger and to clean our pipes out to avoid the inevitable future clog. Well, it did a wonderful job. I was able to easily extend it to full length and to retract it when completed. No jams, no bunches, no issues at all. The 1/4” diameter snake is the perfect size for our pipes and went through flawlessly. I love that the auger has a steel drum so that it will last and not break easily.
