This soap quality is unmatched. Each bar lasts anywhere between 3 and 7 days based on the level of grit. Higher grit bars tend to get used up more quickly I’ve noticed. So I took delivery of The Squatch Soap this afternoon. Gave it a try this evening and was really impressed. The smell was great, pure coconut ! Most noticeable was there was no sticky residue feeling like other perfumes soaps! I will continue my reviews as I work my way through the Dr Squatch products purchased. SO, I tried avoiding the Dr at all costs when searching for a more natural soap because of the price but finally gave in after buying a couple bars at Walmart. I've tried several brands and to be clear none of them were much better than the last, including the Dr. The biggest difference I've found is that someone at this company has a pretty good sniffer. Not all are winners but a good 90% have been (all are in the fresh pack) and while I saved money per bar with others I always end up not using or forcing myself to use a quarter or half cause I really didn't like the scents. Walmart has gone up to almost $8/bar where they were about $6.50. With a subscription every 4 months (I take military showers so these last) I get them for under $6 here. Still pricey but at least I know I'll use every one. Does it live up to the all natural hype? No, its just pretty good soap with a great marketing campaign Do they smell good and make me feel clean after? Yep, and thats worth the cost, for now. ... show more

Scent: Mossy Retreat
Recently I've been really trying to pay attention to what I put in and on my body. And in that regard, the Squatch brand came highly recommended for the personal hygiene department. At first, when I was making the purchase, I was a little overwhelmed by all the scent choices. As a typical man, I didn't put too much thought into soap before. Soap was soap. So I just picked one of the 5-bar variety packs. Of course, the first thing you want to do though once receiving the box is "I want to smell them". And I was pleasantly surprised, and was looking forward to my next shower. So let's start with the scent then. Of the 5 flavors, here is my ranking from most to least favorite: 1) Wood Barrel Bourbon (WBB), 2) Coconut Castaway (CC), 3) Gold Moss (GM), 4) Birchwood Breeze (BB), 5) Fresh Falls (FF). And it's not like I didn't like FF. It just reminded me more like a standard soap smell. Whereas all the other scents felt more earthy or exotic. I asked my wife to smell too. So for her opinion, I did not get a complete ranking. But her most favorite was also the WBB. And her least was the GM. So anyway, WBB is the front runner in this house. Moving on. The next thing I did was review the ingredients. I use an app that scans the product and tells me, because there's no way I'm going to research each thing myself. So all 5 bars had high rankings. But it was interesting to find BB and CC had slightly lower marks due to the inclusion of titanium dioxide. The app labels this as low risk, and I'll let you look that up for the details. But the other 3 bars did not have it. So again, WBB comes out on top for me. Moving on. I have not been able to use all of them. But of course, I went straight for the WBB. Again it smells so good when I step into the shower. I can smell it even before starting to scrub. It seems to lather good. No complaints there. The first couple uses, it felt smooth on the skin. As it starts to wear down, I started to feel a bit of the grit in the soap. I don't find this as a bad thing. Just noticeable. Also, I think it wears down faster than normal soap. Could be why buying 5 bars at a time is the way to go. (As I thought at first, man, 5 bars of soap will last me a long time. But probably not now at this rate.) Also, the shape was odd to me. The square instead of the standard rectangular shape. It sat awkwardly in my soap dish for a bit. Until it wore down. Neither of those things is enough to mark any points off though. I am thoroughly happy with this soap. I look forward to trying more flavors. And I look forward to trying more Squatch products overall. ... show more
