They were snug around the ankles but not a deal breaker for me. The heel is solid and provides a small height increase, the soles extremely comfortable with good grip. My only problem with these boots is that the toe tapers and squishes my toes. My shoe size is consistent and I ordered my normal size, but my toes go numb when standing in these boots after a while. These were super comfy, but they run small. The only issue that with these boots are that they advertise them as a wide calf but it’s super snug compared to other brands.

I have fairly large calves and even “wide calf” boots can be tricky to find in a good fit. These went on with ease! I wear size 9-9.5 so ordered these in a 9.5. They were a bit snug with winter socks on, so can only wear with lighter ankle socks. If you want to wear heavier socks, you should size up. Pretty happy with them overall though. ... show more

Purchased these boots because of the name Dr. Scholl. My only concern is the boots do not have enough length in the toe area. I wear size 10 and my to is very close to the end of the boots. other than that they fits great and are beautiful.

These boots are perfect for horse riding and classy enough for winter wear. So comfortable you can wear them for hours the first time you put them on. Loved the color - loved the look- very comfie but the elastic piece is not so forgiving - I am not sure “wide calf” is true. My other wide calf boots are loose on my calf - I had to put on a silky knee high to zip this - top 3 inches - but then it was ok didn’t rub or cut in - I love them!!
