Size:: This is not the first Dr scholl's shoes I've owned. Previously, I have bought a size 10 which is my normal size. So that is what I ordered. I feel like they fit appropriately. Wide Calf Size:: there is a smidge of extra room around the top of my calves but not by much. I recently lost 45 pounds & I fear that if I hadn't done that these probably would not have fit my calves. Not sure what the calf width is compared to other side calf boots, something to consider when deciding to purchase. Comfort:: As always with Dr Scholl's shoes, the foot bed in the shoes are cushioned and comfortable. I have worn these once for running errands on a very cold rainy day. They kept my feet and calves dry & very warm. However, after an hour and a half of walking and driving, walking and driving my feet became very sore along the sides of my pinky toes as well as the ball joint of the feet. I've never needed to buy wide shoes for comfort reasons in the past, so I believe this is something that will fade away as the boots wear in. The heel is very slightly higher than boot heels I've bought in the past so that may okay a role as well. The boots are a somewhat soft leather like feel but also stiff in a manner that they stand on their own. You don't have to stuff the boots for them to stand upright in the closet. Durability:: I was disappointed to see that the heel is beginning to peel where the heel meets the soul of the shoe after only one wear. Something I'll have to keep an eye on, possibly super glue down if this becomes more noticeable. Packaging:: I appreciate that these boots are not bent in half on the claf & instead are packaged upright with no bending to the boots. I always feel this cheap poor packaging trick wears the boots down before you even buy them so I was happy to see the packaging! Overall:: I really like the boots! I think they're a classic style that won't fade away. They can easily be dressed up or down. For the price I think you get what you pay for. They're nice boots that seem durable considering they're not genuine leather. Contemplating a purchase of them in black! ... show more

First things first: size up! I followed this recommendation from other reviews, and I definitely needed to. I normally wear a size 7 wide, and the 8 fits nicely. I haven't worn them out yet, but trying them out around the house they are very comfortable. My last boots are too thin in the calf for me now, and I needed something wider. These fit nicely and have a little elastic hidden under the triangle on the inside of the calf for extra wiggle room. ... show more

Wound up returning these. Definitely not wide calf friendly at all. If you normally struggle with boots that claim to be wide calf and are disappointed because they won’t zip up halfway…these are just another one of those. No stretch or give to the material in the calf area and there is a ton of excess fabric/leather bunching around the ankles. Feels like these should be advertised as more of a wide ankle option rather than wide calf. Beautiful color and they seem comfy so it’s a bummer they didn’t work out. ... show more

I bought these on sale and got my usually size since there was no real size information in the description. They’re too small and barely fit my calves. If you have actually wide calves, these won’t work for you. I tried to exchange them for a size up but Amazon wouldn’t allow it and they’ve doubled in price so I won’t be rebuying them. ... show more

I was thrilled with how easy it was to put these on. Always had a difficult time getting boots over my calfs. But these went right on over my calfs. It’s a high boot and is comfortable and looks good. So far it’s holding its shape . Very happy with this boot.
