  • Essential bath product
Scent: Peppermint
One of my favorite soaps. Extremely effective with little amount. Make sure to dilute it with water. No complaints

  • So good!
Scent: Tea Tree
We love that Dr. Bronner’s is organic and sustainable. Rather than purchasing multiple soaps and refills, DB offers a large refill of his products and we love the Tea Tree and Lavender smells. It’s a staple in our home.

  • NO RETURNS/BROKEN PUMP
Scent: Lemongrass
The product arrived broken pump and since it’s a third party seller there is NO RETURNS. Dumb me should have viewed the reviews first. It’s a common theme here. DONT BUY and shop other sources. Dr. Bronner office told me they couldn’t help and to contact seller and that’s where it ends!

  • A guy with medium length hair's perspective
Scent: Tea Tree
Probably one of the few guys (with medium length hair) who uses Dr. Bronner's products... so here goes: Pros: -Dr. Bronner's is an INCREDIBLE company. Environmentally, socially, financially responsible through and through. Legit fair trade, seriously organic, no one gets paid more than 5 times another (amazing considering that most CEOs nowadays make hundreds times what their factory floor workers do), employees get 100% free healthcare, and they give like a third of their profits back to charity (beyond their free trade projects, which, among other things, support peaceful Palestinian/Israeli coexistence and medical equipment for hospitals in Sri Lanka). If corporations were actually people, Dr. Bronner's would be Gandhi (and I should know, I'm Indian :P) -I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair! So soft, so shiny (not greasy though), so healthy and strong...Not only that, but after using this and the conditioning rinse and leave-in conditioner, I can just run my hands through my hair to style it almost any which way I please! Do you know how much time that saves me in the morning? Now I don't feel so guilty when pressing snooze 3x. -Love the strong smell of the soap when showering :) ahhh...tea tree...peppermint...so refreshing Cons -still experimenting on how much/little to use of each product. Right now, might be using too much shampoo, because hair becomes parched if I don't use the leave-in conditioner. -Price. Originally used the soap on body too, but after not seeing a noticeable difference over my Dove bar, decided to save it for just the hair. -Though the soap smells wonderful, it doesn't last on your hair (like my hair doesn't smell like peppermint or tea trees--do those actually exist?? I thought tea leaves grow in bushes). Anyways... I suspect my hair actually smells a bit more like some oil (for all my desi folks out there, kinda like Ayurvedic medicine). I say "suspect" because I don't smell it on a day to day basis, and no one has told me my hair stinks, but if I am hot and/or sweaty, sometimes I smell it. -for the citrus conditioning rinse, be careful, because it really stings if you get it in your eyes or on open cuts. Also, the smell of citrus and whatever oils they use is, frankly, nauseating in the shower.***SEE UPDATE BELOW*** Citrus and that oil smell do not mix Dr. Bronner, nuh uh, not at all. Also, not a fan of having to dilute the rinse on my own before use. First world problems, I know, but I'd appreciate it if it came pre-diluted, and preferably at the same consistency as the soap (instead of having the viscosity of water, which is harder to work through your hair). Sorry for the novella. TL;DR: love the company and the results, not such a big fan of the price or the slight oily smell--but that's what you get for all-natural. Also, for guys, cut back ALOT on what they tell you to use. Peace! ~A Dr. Bronner's lifetime customer P.s. If you're interested in more socially responsible products, check out the Good Guide app (here's the Apple link:[...] UPDATE: Finally figured out how much to use: half a "pump" of shikakai soap/shampoo, 1/4 cap of the conditioning rinse (+ 1 cup water) and probably 1/8 to 1/4 a "pump" of the leave-in conditioner. When you dilute the citrus conditioning rinse, it doesn't smell nearly as bad as before, you only smell the citrus :) ... show more

  • The best all around!
Scent: Peppermint
I've been a loyal Dr. Bronner's fan for a few years now after I started getting skin rashes and crepey skin from "regular" soap. I was reacting to all the preservatives and toxic chemicals in conventional soap. I tried everything, even "natural" soaps, but was still reacting to the essential oils that they use. The ONLY thing that I did not react to was Dr. Bronner's. I originally tried the peppermint castile soap, and it dried out my hands (the peppermint was too strong for my skin). I tried the unscented baby castile and it was the best soap I had ever used. I did not react to it, and it made my hands soft, clean and got rid of the crepeyness. On a whim, I also tried the almond scent, and that is my holy grail!! I use it to wash my face, my hands, my body, and my entire apartment, including my dishes. It cleans grease and stains like no other soap I've used, without all the harsh chemicals. I use it everyday with confidence and peace of mind. I have yet to find anything else on the market that holds up to all their clean, natural ingredients that also actually cleans well. A year later, I decided to try their sugar soaps, and they are now my favorite to use in the bathroom. I've tried the lavender, lemongrass/lime, and peppermint. Because the formula is slightly different and more moisturizing, the peppermint one doe snot dry out my hands like the castile version. In fact, it makes them baby soft and cleans better than any other soap out there. It is my favorite scent thus far for the sugar soaps (smells like a mix between spearmint and peppermint and really wakes up my senses, I love it). I hope Dr. Bronner's never goes out of business. It's so nice to have a company that actually cares and practices ethically while making safe, quality products for everyone. I could go without all the "writing" on their bottles, but I just take it as quirky fun ;) ... show more
