This razor is definitely a great buy! It came right out of the box almost shave ready. All it needed was a few round trips on the strope. It’s well balanced in your hand, it came exactly as it shows in the pic with the gold writing on the blade and the black scales with the small silver plaque on them. The shave is super smooth with no tugging or irritation. Anyone can use this razor from a beginner to someone who’s been doing this for years. I’ve never used a razor before and was easily able to have a great close shave right out of the box. Most comments complained that it wasn’t shave ready immediately, and I even bought a whetstone set, but it worked great. This thing came dull as a butter knife right out of the box. I wish I could give it a negative star review. That would still be too good for this piece of junk. You'd have better luck shaving with a rusty butter knife found in an alley behind a Perkins restaurant. Don't waste it your money. This thing is truly worthless.     • First Straight Razor
This was my first straight razor, so I don't have a length experience with them. It holds it's edge nicely and feels good in my hand. It isn't awkward in the tight spots. Looks good.

    • Very smooth cutter
This blade is pretty smooth compared to Nick, my Spanish point that I properly named. After using straight edges for a while, I can tell that the Dovo is worth the money.

    • Uneven edge
I really wish this razor had a better edge. The edge was not even throughout the blade. After honing myself it's much better, but I think I need a pro to set the angle and consistency of the edge.
