I anxiously awaited these lampshades, they arrived with other items. When I opened the box the first thing I looked for were these. What? They were in a flat box. What is this wizardry? I couldn't imagine two lampshades could be in one pretty flat - did I say flat - box? Well, they unfold. At first I though, "well, this can't be good" and I was so wrong. The interior structure that makes it into a lampshade unfolds and you basically snap the supports into place. The little deflated heap of collapsed, folded fabric was transformed into a lampshade right before my eyes. The structure holds the fabric taunt. I am impressed. The fabric is very nice and subtle gold. They came in a flat package and the inner frame was super easy to pop into place. They are sheer when the light is turned on. This highlights that the material is not neatly inside the lower base of the shade. I may try gluing if to make it less noticable. That said, depending on the application, the price is a great deal for a pair of shades. They may be good depending on where you will use these. ... show more

If these didn't come with "Free Returns" I might not have taken a chance on them based on some of the bad reviews. I noticed that some of the review pictures didn't show them put together with the supporting brackets (they were just hanging down below the shade) and that could be why people were saying that they were badly crushed looking. These are so easy to assemble and they look amazing. I'm now trying them on other lamps to see if I should buy more. They'll be easy to transport too, if I ever decide to move. The price is very reasonable, too. These were way worth the gamble. I could not be more pleased. ... show more

Many years ago, Lamps plus insulted me. I can’t remember the circumstances, but I do remember that is was unfair and swore I would never buy from them again. That was about 40 years ago, and I never have broken my promise, but these lamp shades were perfect for what I needed. Even the lamps they’re on in the web site photo are the same as mine!
