  • FITS WELL
THIS ITEM WAS VERY HELPFUL, DUE TO THE AGE OF MY 1987 S-10 PICKUP PARTS ARE HARD TO FIND FOR SOME ITEMS. THE HARDEST THING WAS BENDING THE END OF IT TO FIT LIKE THE OEM PART DID BUT IN THE END IT WORKED PERFECTLY. TIME WILL TELL HOW LONG IT WILL LAST.

  • Works well, but modification required
As prevous reviewers mentioned the flare size of the connector on fuel pump side is slightly larger than the hole size of the hose side. Instead of widening the hole like other did, I made the flare end narrower using a C-clamp so it can fit into the hole. Just squeezed the flare using the clamp, turned C-clamp few times around the flare, and repeated it few times until the flare end sits perfectly in the hole. The only complain I have is the length of the rubber hose. I wish the rubber hose is a foot longer than it is because it needs to go through a corner. I need to bend the steel line using a bending tool instead. The vehicle for this application is 93 fullsize blazer. ... show more

  • Dan, the previous reviewer is right.
Before I ordered this part I read Dan's review. Sure enough I notice the exact same issues with this part as I repair the fuel system on my 1996 Chevrolet Suburban. I had the time today to take this part into an industrial supply company that deals with pneumatics and hydraulics. They admitted that they didn't generally supply parts for automotive fuel systems but agreed to take a look at this part anyway and try to help me out. These people had very accurate digital micrometers and calipers. We determined that the diameter of the seat in the original GM part was 7.8mm. The diameter of the seat in the Dorman part sold here is 7.4mm. That tiny 0.4mm difference creates interference that causes the male part of the fuel fitting (the formed o-ring fitting on the fuel pump side) to fail to seat properly. The only solution that we could come up with was to order a 7.8mm drill bit, place the Dorman part into a drill press and carefully widen the seat. I'll see how this goes but none of the experts that helped me on this could understand why this fitting measured 7.4mm on the seat. As Dan wrote previously there is no such problem with the 3/8" repair part that Dorman markets. That one fits perfectly. Strange.... ... show more

  • Didn't fit spectra tank
This applies to a 1993 Chevrolet S-10 Pros: Dorman makes this part for an old S-10 whereas GM has discontinued the OEM product. Perhaps there are other aftermarket lines that will connect to a GM tank, but I couldn't find any. It's nice that dorman makes it. Cons: It didn't fit properly to the new Spectra Premium tank I bought. The sending unit connection on the tank has a small flare with an o-ring that fits into the female fitting on the dorman 800-933. The diameter of the flare was slightly too big for the dorman as a result it wouldn't seat far enough in to provide a seal or allow the threads to catch on the sending units tube-nut. No such problem on the 16mm dorman 800-934 for the 3/8" connection. I don't really know whether the problem is with diameter the spectra tank sender flare or the dorman fitting, both worked with the original GM counterparts but didn't work together. I used a dremmel bit on a drill to increase the diameter ever-so-slightly and got it to seat and seal. The diameter of the dorman hole is noticably smaller than that of the original GM part. If I were to do it again I would try to reuse the end piece of the original GM line, since it was not too rusted near the flexible hose. Good luck. ... show more
