  • Come on Ford make a better design!
Attention if you have any humming or grinding noises coming from the front of your Ford F-150 this is the culprit that's making the noise just change both sides in my 2013 Ford F150 it took me about 45 minutes per side with a 2 inch leveling kit installed. Very easy to do if your mechanically inclined. Good quality product!! ... show more

  • Buy from DIY Companies!
These did the trick. If you hear grinding in the front hubs, either one of these actuators is blown (so it won't hold a seal) or the solenoid is toast, or the insanely stupid vacuum hose Ford put into its F150 (brittle, expensive, sucks and NOT "Ford Tough") is broken. I replaced the brittle vacuum hose with a normal generic vacuum hose and ran it up over the back firewall. Popped two of these in. Presto! Expensive job done much less expensively because of quality Dorman parts. Exact match to OEM. Pre greased and everything. ... show more

  • Ford buys these also.....
I ordered this Dorman 600-105 Locking Hub Actuator for my 2014 F150. It was a perfect fit; but I damaged it upon installation. I did not fully engage the gear to the splines on the CV axle and the nylon ring broke; resulting in the same noise upon driving. My fault. So, I ordered a "Genuine Ford" P/N 7L1Z-3C247, as a few YouTube reviews and others here say"Its Genuine Ford- none better", or somesuch. Well, I've got news for you- after receiving my "Genuine Ford" part, it had the EXACT same marking on it- they both say "Warn Industries" on them, and they both have the EXACT same pink spot of paint on them. The "Ford" part had the Ford part number on it- but on the Dorman part, this number had been machined off. Identical parts- BOTH made by Warn........... Well, the Ford part was only a couple bucks more than the Dorman, but the Ford part took several days to arrive, so I think getting the Dorman part is a no brainer. If BOTH are manufactured by Warn Industries, why doesn't Warn sell them also? Well, problem solved, and the truck is nice and quiet now. While installing the actuator, a couple videos mention applying vacuum to it while placing it into the hub- this retracts the gear collar and makes it MUCH easier to get in place without damaging the part. Be VERY careful pushing the CV axle back into place- that is how I broke a couple while installing... but again, my fault. Yes, this part is a "Genuine FORD"- vendor part. SAME ITEM. Now you know where Ford gets them...... ... show more

  • Just what my truck needed
This was a first for me. I can change the oil, rotate tires, change filters, brake pads, wipers, light bulbs and fuses, but replacing drive train part was a new one. A couple quick searches on the web, and I found a video on you tube. If you can change your brake pads, you can do this. A floor Jack, torque wrench, 13mm, 8mm, 13/16" sockets, and a jack stand, along with brake cleaner, grease, some rags, and patience is all you need. I replaced one side, the first time, following the video on you tube, and it took less than an hour. And I now have 4x4 and no more annoying grinding/whining from the front end. Great product! Just like factory. Moog hasn't let me down yet!!! ... show more

  • Fits 2004 FX4 f150
I started hearing grinding noise from the front right side of the truck and research lead me to these hubs. To test it, I drove in a straight line and turned out 4H, few seconds later the noise was gone. Anyway, to see the repair procedure go to YouTube and look up the method 1aauto shows. No power tools required. The old hub was filled with dirt and compressing through diaphragm had a nasty crunchy noise. ... show more

  • Great replacement
Works perfectly. The old one on my '04 F150 was not working at all due to water issues at the actuator and the solenoid, replaced both and now I don't have that hub always engaged and turning the axle on that side. I couldn't tell the difference between this part and the OEM except that this one worked obviously. Easy replacement, probably 30 minutes or so, there are some good youtube videos out there explaining how to do it. ... show more

  • Great product and exactly what I needed to get my 4x4 working again
I am writing this review to inform everyone that if you suspect your having issues with your 4x4 go research online forums before jumping to conclusion. There are plenty of Ford F150 forums that can help you diagnose your problem just as I did. Ok.... now back to the product... this product was packaged professionally and arrived as described by seller. I purchased on here for about half the price of what a local auto parts store wanted. Job took about 75 mins on drivers side (1st time ever replacing these acuators) and once i knew the technique and sizes only about 30 mins on the passenger side. All in all a great product very pleased and 4x4 works again. ... show more

  • Worth it, worked great, still working years later as my nephew has this truck today!
Bolted right on. Worked great for years. Lasted till I sold the vehicle. You do have to be mechanically inclined to install so just because I put down that it is easy to install, that is based on my mechanical ability to do the job with ease.
