  • Blades that hold it's sharpness longer than other blades.
Style: 12 Cartridges (No Handle)
This product is used to shave my head and face, every other day, and keeps it's sharp edge for weeks.

  • I like it better than Gilette Fusion Power!
Style: 9 Cartridges + 1 Handle
I decided to try a new razor after Gilette's ill-conceived "toxic masculinity" campaign. I had been using the Gilette Fusion 5 Proglide Razor for years. With the Gilette, I never cut myself because of its safety features. For one, the blades themselves have a cushiony give to them, and the head pivots and swivels; so it is very gentle on the face. It also runs on a battery and vibrates, allegedly to make the shaving experience smoother. Someone on a message board suggested I try Dorco. I went with the Pace 6 Power Razor as it also was battery powered and had multiple blades and a trimmer blade like the Gilette. My first shave resulted in several cuts, and my face felt a bit irritated. My next shave was better, producing only one cut. After that I figured out that I was using the razor incorrectly. Because of the cushiness of the Gilette razor, I always had to push it pretty hard with it against my face to get it to shave really close. The Dorco is not as cushy. The head does swivel back and forth, bit not side to side. and the blades have no give. By my third shave, I figured out that I did not need to push the razor much at all. At this point I am getting as close a shave as I did with the Gilette system. I can shave faster with the Dorco because it shaves closer with one pass than the Gilette did. I no longer have to keep re-shaving the sides of mt face as I did with the (overly) cushy Gilette. I also like that the shaving cartridge is not as bulky as the Gilette. There a lot of plastic surrounding the actual blades on the Gilette Fusion, which makes it a bit difficult to shave around my goatee. The Dorco is more streamlined, while providing as many blades as Gilette along with the lubricating fins. IMO, this shaving system is easily as good as Gilette's Fusion Power Proglide. I actually like it better, and it is less expensive than the Gilette system. Because I can shave my face so quickly with it, I am less likely to skip shaving on Saturday as I sometimes used to do. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Good Shave, Flimsy Internals
Style: 9 Cartridges + 1 Handle
The Dorco Pace 6 Plus Power razor I bought 12 months ago just died. The shave is much closer than Gilette's battery powered alternative, so it is worth buying a new one. If I can keep it running, I will buy my next replacement blades with the trimmer option for sideburns.

  • Lost Confidence
Style: 9 Cartridges + 1 Handle
I have been using the Dorco Pace Power for years. The first one I had lasted for several years. The second one also. Then they quit selling direct. I have now gone through 3 in a year with each one getting progressively worse. On the last one, directly out of the box, it would not stop vibrating as soon as I put the batteries in. I thought I fixed it by letting it sit overnight with no batteries. It worked the next day, turned on/off no problem. Went to use it the next day, battery was dead, and the handle wouldn't turn on even with a new battery. I have no desire to go back to Gillette, but at this point I have to look for new alternatives. ... show more

  • Verdict is in - Big G is fired!
Style: 9 Cartridges + 1 Handle
I've had a mustache for decades. One reason I never shaved it was because some of the hairs around my nose are hard to get to. I tried going back to a traditional double edge razor but there's no way that would work. I've used electric razors and trimmers - not close enough for me. I finally went back to the Big G. It did a good job working around the mustache, but the VERY EXPENSIVE blades only lasted a couple of weeks instead of a month. So I decided to try this. It's the same principle as the big guys. It just looks and feels like a better product. It's heavier and handles better. The trimmer is similar to the other guys, but sharper, I think. I'm able to use it right inside my nose and around the outer edges. The shaving blades are comfortable and sharp. They will nick you if you press too hard, but there's no need to do that. I waited a month to write this. I changed my first blade at four weeks. I'm sure it would have lasted much longer. I'm just more particular about a close shave than most, and didn't want to push my luck. So the blades last longer and cost around half as much, and the razor is better. What's not to like? The other guys are fired! ... show more

  • A Great Shave at a Great Price
Style: 9 Cartridges + 1 Handle
Like other reviewers, I've cut G/co out of my shaving life (after 50 years). Turns out that Dorco makes a better razor -- better textured handle, and the square shape makes shaving in the shower much easier, because it's easier to maintain your grip on the handle. The blades are pretty much as good as that other company, and less expensive. I use a blade a week, and the only difference I notice is that I need to rinse the razor a little more often than the G/co. Add a Toiletree shaving mirror and Cremo shave cream(available on Amazon), and it's a great shave in the morning! To the G/co: Get Woke, Go Broke! Update: I notice that G/co is losing a great deal of money yet remains unrepentant. Alienating a significant part of your consumer base turns out to not be a good idea. Who woulda thunk it? You be you, G/co! I won't miss you when you're gone. ... show more

  • Great razor and affordable blades!
Style: 9 Cartridges + 1 Handle
No need to give your money to Gillette, these Dorco blades are awesome, and refills are half the price! The AAA battery lasts a really long time as well.

  • Long time user but disappointed with this product
Style: 9 Cartridges + 1 Handle
I have been using Dorco products for almost 10 years and really love them, so much so the I was buying this for my son as his first razor. Unfortunately however the rubber of the handle on this razor is so soft and sticky that it will stick to my fingers without hanging on to it. It is almost as though it was very old stock and the rubber started to deteriorate. I tried to do a product exchange but Amazon says it is not eligible even though I only purchased it about 3 weeks ago. I don't like saying this but if you are going to get a Dorco razor I recommend avoiding this model and getting a metal handled one. ... show more
