I got these to stop our then recently adopted dog from getting in to the cat liter boxes (and also because one of our cats pooped on puppy pads sometimes) and eating whatever he could find. He did stop that habit, but we have them on every door at the point and it's so helpful. I use mine to keep my door open since my door will close if the smallest gust of wind touches it. My parents use it in their room to keep the door closed, but open enough to let our cat get out and not let guest dogs get it and bug her. It's super easy to install, it's just a sticky thing you put on the wall or door. You can make it longer or shorter, depending on how you want it. This was the perfect solution instead of having an ugly baby gate to step over when entering the room that the cat items are in. The dogs are kept out and the cats can easily access their food/litter boxes. If you’re on the fence on buying this, don’t be. It’s fantastic and strong. Have had zero issues with the adhesive strength. Would buy again if necessary. The only thing I can’t speak on is how well it would hold up to toddlers/little kids as my kids are teens and obviously don’t push on or mess with the door. ... show more

I bought this to keep my dogs away from the cats food and litter box . So far it has worked very well . The cat got the hang of using it very quickly and the dogs have not broken into the bathroom where I put the latch. Ideally I would not like to unlatch and latch my bathroom door every use . But . I also want the cat to eat and use the cat box in peace . And the dogs not to get into either . Well made easy to install and good directions ... show more

I love this product. I have two cat that unfortunately know how to jump up and open the door even if we close it so keeping the door open is a must but because we have roommates we want to have our privacy without our cats opening our door wise open. I do wish the strap was elastic so the door can be a little more closed but its not bad as is. The bumper accessory helps the door to not completely close while the strap limits how much it opens. The adjustable strap helps with a growing kitty that is getting bigger and being able to easily take it on and off is perfect ... show more

I loved how easy this is to use on the daily... unlike a lot of "baby" proofing items, this doesn't require a rocket science degree to operate. It keeps the door open just the right amount for the cat, and blocks the dogs from getting in to eat litter or food.

    • Exactly what I was looking for.
I was looking for something to keep our bedroom door mostly closed and still have enough space for the cats to come in/out without opening the door all the way, especially with the AC on. This latch works perfectly, It’s exactly what I was looking for, so much so that I bought a second one for the bathroom where the litter box is, to keep that door from opening all the way and letting the stink out lol. They are easy to install and easy to latch/unlatch to get in the room/ I love the bumpers too to keep the door from shutting all the way. This is perfect for our needs and we love it! This would also keep kids out of rooms without smashing their fingers in the doors and would keep dogs out also, depending on how wide you have your opening. Obviously if someone pushed on the door hard enough it could pop off but it would take some effort and a lot of pressure/weight, but that’s the case for any command style hooks, etc. overall this product was exactly what I wanted and works for the purpose intended. 5*’s! ... show more

So, I bought this because my cat's litter box is in my bathroom which is in my room. Allowing my door to stay cracked open allows her to not both me as much out of boredom in the middle of the night. However, I have a roommate and like to sleep "freely". I also keep my bathroom door cracked open so she can use it. Of course, she likes joining me when I'm using it or showering. Problem is bedroom door is right in front of my bathroom door and bedroom is right next to the kitchen. So, I bought this so my cat could come in without my roommate or any guests getting a peep show lol. It's adjustable so if you accidentally messed up while installing, it's kinda forgivable.     • Great for a puppy learning boundaries
We put this on a spare bedroom to give our senior cat some privacy while still giving us easy access to the room. Easy to install. Sturdy. The width adjuster was a bit hard to slide without going all the way to one side or another, but eventually got it perfect.
