There is no way you can beat this pizza sauce taste and quality unless you make your own from scratch and even then you had better know what you are doing. We have bought other pizza sauce in past we have made our own we have done it all to ensure our homemade pizza is near perfect. A great pizza is in the sauce, not to runny, not to thick not an overwhelming tomato taste it needs to be perfect and this is one that I have yet to find better even homemade authentic pizza sauce is hard to beat this. ... show more

I was so excited because I am told this is the best, but when they arrived they were ALL damaged,dented, crushed. I am still keeping them, but this isn’t the first time to order canned goods from amazon and have them arrive crushed. By the way the sauce is excellent! More decades ago than I care to count, my favorite local pizza and sub shop in my neighborhood used Don Pepino pizza sauce, from seemingly huge cans. A few years later, it became available in smaller cans in the local grocery store. I started making my own pizzas as a hungry teenager, using this sauce. it's still my favorite to this day. It's a classic, straightforward pizza sauce, with the tomatoes being the main flavor. It's fantastic for a New York style pizza. Jazz it up a bit with a few spices, and it makes a great pizza of just about any style you can think of - Sicilian, Chicago deep dish, Detroit, Pan, thick crust, bar style, and many more. I've also used it in many recipes that call for a plain tomato sauce. I think it works wonderfully, with a bit more texture than a plain tomato sauce. I even use it as a dip for plain mozzarella cheese! I highly recommend it for a great tomato flavor. ... show more
