The goal was to enclose the backyard for my little dog in my rental home. This is my first purchase of “Play Pen” fencing, for my area, I ordered 4 boxes (32 panels), using it as a regular fencing and installed it in one day. The construction and materials are a good strong quality, no flaws or defects in any of the 4 boxes, you can position the panels to follow the curves of the area. One area of 3 panels needed to be “stepped” up for the grade of the soil, surprising, it worked out very well, the panels accommodated the task. Keep in mind this product is “play pen” fencing for pets, check the width specs for the gate opening for people to walk through. So I bought this with the intention of using it for a litter of pups, when my GSD had puppies I needed something to keep these little 8 rascals contained when ppl would come over and meet with them. It certainly did the job. I would not recommend for a medium to large dog bc if it wants out it will get out. Mama was able to jump over the in-house one. Not super sturdy but if your only using it for 30 minutes to an hr at a time it will certainly do the job. ... show more

This 30” tall 8 panel puppy pen is a good choice. Our girl pug just had puppies. We used a whelping pen the first two weeks, intermittently now, and still at night, but we have been transitioning the pups during the daytime into this one more often. Our pups are small enough where they cannot get over and out with the gate open, thanks to the 6 inch bottom grate, but momma can get in and out to feed and care for them as she needs to. The gate closes and latches. It can also be locked, but I don’t see the point of that. We generally use it as a square but it can be octagon or other shapes. It’s super easy to take apart and put together. The metal is proportionately strong for this job. We use a large per pad and smaller disposable pee pads and a towel or blanket so they don’t slip and can practice standing and walking. The only things we take issue with is it slides around on hard surfaces. And there is no way to lick the panels into position to maintain a shape. It is more so functional for a stab and grab in lawns/grass. ... show more

Although this pen had mixed reviews I am so glad I purchased it! I got the one with 8 panels and have it set up indoors for foster dogs with a tarp underneath. It is sturdy, all metal, configurable with however many panels you want to use, any shape and it is a Good size for keeping several small/medium dogs or a batch if puppies :) Others have said that it rusted outside and I can see that happening so I would use Rustoleum to paint it before putting it out. Not sure why people say it is not strong or would get knocked over by wind? The poles that holed the panels together (slide through each piece) are pointed on the ends that go into the ground and will go at least 3-4" deep. If that is not enough you could use stakes... I like that the gate is not level with the floor because no dogs can come rushing out when I open it to go in with food and water. For the price, it cannot be beat. Others appear to be very similar and twice as much. I would't expect it to hold dogs over 50 pounds if they are high strung or very energetic but for my needs it is awesome!!!!! ... show more
