Description

Do you want to feed your furry best friend in a healthy and sustainable manner? Are you tired of reading scary dog food recalls that are putting your pets health at risk?Do you just want a simple solution that puts you in control, and allows for your dog to live a happier and healthier life? Then keep reading… When stepping into a grocery store or pet shop you are greeted with aisles and walls of different pet food options. All these bright colored packages of dry and wet foods creatively marketed to get your attention… unfortunately, most of these options are not necessarily the best and healthiest for your dog. Just as humans have switched from healthy, natural and traditional diets to processed and mass-produced foods, we have made the same choices on behalf of our dogs. We are feeding our dogs the same “fast food” day in and day out, and this limits their nutritional intake. Just as people need variety in their diet, so do dogs. After all, wouldn’t you get tired of having spaghetti as your only meal for years on end? Luckily, there is a better way that is both simple and effective… a fresh food diet (either store-bought or homemade). Instead of eating biologically inappropriate foods full of questionable meat sources and additives that can cause health problems, your pup can enjoy simple freshly cooked meals. You might be wondering… won’t this homemade cooking take a long time? Or isn’t this more expensive than buying a bag of food at my local store? This book will guide you through the entire process and you will find preparing healthy food for your dog is easier and less expensive than you think. Here’s just a tiny bit of what you’ll discover inside our ‘Dog Nutrition & Cookbook’: The problems with commercial pet foods (these facts will shock and surprise you). The 7 major nutrients dogs need in their diet. How much should your dog eat? Do you own a puppy or a senior dog? A large breed or a small guy or gal? They all have a different set of nutritional demands, and it’s all covered inside.25 foods dogs should steer clear of at all costs. More than 17 ‘PAWsitively’ delicious meal recipes and 5 treat recipes that your dog will love and are guaranteed to spoil her/him with nutritional goodness. An easy to follow and prepare 2 week meal plan that will save you time and money. How to properly read a dog food label and understand what’s really inside your dogs food. How to make mealtime positive and even more effective with simple training tricks.… and much, much more. This is a great book for those looking to get more information on dog nutrition and keeping their dogs healthy. There is a lot of conflicting and overwhelming information out there. This guide simplifies the process and silences the noise. Ready to get started and find out more? It’s as easy as scrolling up and tapping “Buy Now”. Read more

  • Useful recipes
My wife and I have never cooked dog food before. But, since our dog has been battling allergies and reoccurring yeast infections coupled with frequent Vet visits, we decided to try to feed her homemade food instead of the convenient store bought food. This book provided a good variety of recipes that we could choose from. Some of them used too many simple carbs so we rejected those. We did find several recipes that we now use. Some use a crock pot and some are stove top. It’s been a very helpful guide and my wife and I cook for our (First World) dog and she loves the meals! Cooking for our dog does take time and effort but the health of our dog is worth it. I’ve been feeding her almost twice as much (by weight) of the homemade food compared to the store bought food. I know when she’s done because she scoots the bowl around the room as she kicks the bottom. She has not had another yeast infection, her ears are clear, is more active and she’s losing weight. I can’t say that cooking for her is cheaper than feeding her commercial pet food but not having to take her to the vet sure does tip the scales monetarily. Overall my dog is healthier and happier and I will continue cooking for her with of course the guidance provided by this book. ... show more

  • meals
I find the meals easy to make but nothing is said about feeding raw. A few ingredients I don’t agree with but alternatives are given such as in the flour category.

  • Just made one GIANT batch from one of these recipes
We were feeding our dogs human grade dog food that was fresh since they’d been puppies. They were happy, heathy, energetic and slept well during the night. During shut down during COVID 19, the company was no longer opened and has still yet to do after 2years. Our female, Maizie as well as her brother/littermate also came home with us- (after some serious pleading and another check written to breeder)we were proud owners of 2 AKC Golden Retriever’s. They were born July1, 2018. They were trained to be assistive therapy dogs as I am very ill &our loyal 15 yr old Golden had passed 9 months before we took the pups home in 2018. They’ve also been wonderful with children, other adults and make a lot of stops to friends who need some love. (We do this to help spread the love and laughter in community, they aren’t working or hired.) Once Maizie started having diarrhea and was doing so inside the house unable to make the door to get out and had also developed what were raised rash or eczema bumps&flaky skin and was red, itchy and extremely swollen, we were relieved when her vet got tests back and said it’s an allergic reaction but nothing besides her food had changed and she’s never had allergies before. It was obvious we needed to begin making healthy, safe and a variety of different foods, vitamins through the fruits and vegetables and get in some of their supplements in either by ordering some(but was cautious as nothing is ever as it’s marketed as) or making my own ensuring all nutrients and minerals they required would be inside their meal. So, when I found this book I wanted to cry. Finally!!!! Last week I’d made 3 different crock pot recipes and I tripled the recipe as it is safe to freeze whatever you’ve made for following week for up to 3 months. We gave the dogs their first Mom&Da home cooked food and they’ve been so happy, breath smells better, no more runny poo or diarrhea. I’m very optimistic and feel that this was the answer to the dogs good health and our concerns. I also made 2 recipes for the homemade treats and the dogs are absolutely thriving! Their eyes seem brighter, coats are shinier less dull or messy looking and they lick those bowls for long after they’ve finished their breakfast and dinner- they NEVER did that before! ... show more

  • Sorry, author. Don't bother.
It's ok. A lot of info I've read time and time again. Gives recipes for cooked food, not raw, and tells you how much to feed by the metric system. Seems to have gotten a lot of the info from the internet! I'm recycling the book tomorrow.
