  • Makes removing leaves off roof so much easier
Style: Large Rake (No Pole)
My painters pole from Lowe’s had too large a fitting to screw rake into so beware you may also need a new pole. I ended up buying the matching pole (24 ft) which is much longer than my painters pole and for my house, I actually needed the extra length. So although it cost me more, it works fantastic and I now don’t worry about falling off ladder. Well worth the cost! ... show more

  • nice extension pole, rake attachment could be improved
Style: 6 to 24 Foot
I received the 24' pole with expandable rake attachment, angle piece and dust mop attachment (thanks for the latter?). The pole is very nicely constructed, with simple-to-use extensions (4 total) lockable into extension by yellow lever handles. These are well constructed. The dense rubber foam grips on the base is nice, useful for handling the pole at full extension. The pole is a bit hard to control at full extension, but the length of reach is great. The extensible rake attachment is nice. To rake (long accumulated) debris from my high, metal roof valleys (8/12), the rake must be completely retracted (narrowest width) as, otherwise, the individual rake tongs are too flexible to bear down and pull out debris. This isn't a deal-breaker, and might actually be useful in other applications. The lock toggle on the rake doesn't seem to be rugged, I expect it will break in use. Also, it stands off of the rake's central shaft and, thus, can be accidentally actuated during use. Please redesign this locking mechanism. The angle accessory sits in line with the pole end and attachments. When the rake is completely screwed on to the angle accessory, and it is screwed completely onto the pole, the rake's orthogonal plane (orthogonal to rake tongs and rake central shaft) isn't properly oriented using the direction of the angle--- in other words the rake can be angled downwards from the pole using the accessory, but the rake will be skewed relative to this angle. I was essentially forced to not use this accessory. It would be nice to be able to use it for roof-cleaning purposes. Finally, the rake has a threaded hole drilled and a screw provided to clamp down on the pole (or angle accessory) threads. The screw provided was too small, and won't lock down on the inner threaded piece (which would have addressed problem above). So most of my problems involved the rake attachment and angle accessory. The pole itself is great, well-engineered. ... show more

  • Perfect for getting debris off the roof
Going into winter, we homeowners have to watch out for debris on our roofs, as that can be the inception of ice dams. Roof valleys in particular are notorious for catching debris, and holding it. I spotted a stubborn debris spot in one of the valleys on my ranch house...the kind that just won't go away despite wind and rain. I looked around for something to put on the end of my lightweight aluminum painter's pole to deal with the problem, and came upon this product. It's perfect for the deed, and allowed me to very quickly pull that blob of stuff off the roof. Some lament that the product is not made of steel. Actually, being made of plastic is ideal for the task, because the plastic is gentler, and won't scrape the granules off your roof shingles. ... show more

  • It's an adjustable pole with a roof rake attachment
Style: 6 to 24 Foot
Note that this is a pole system that can connect with a variety of attachments. Only the pole and rake are evaluated here. THE RAKE The roof rake is made for just that - the roof. It is designed to get leaves out of the roof valleys without ascending to the roof. You can buy a more functional rake for yard work. The rake attachment can be adjusted for size - narrow or wide. One review said it could be angled, but mine cannot. That means you either have to extend the pole to its maximum length or stand on a ladder depending on the angle and height of your roof to the ground. This will not work on second story roofs. A little mental geometry on your part will determine whether this will work on your own roof. If your home is one story and the surrounding land is flat, this should work just fine. The rake attachment worked reasonably well but often rotated loose from its screw in attachment site, requiring frequent adjustment. There is a small set screw on the side that seems to be designed to prevent this, but it doesn't actually stabilize anything. THE POLE The pole system has lever locks for each of the extension components. These worked well and are much easier to adjust than screw locks. Each extension piece moved easily. The pole is sturdy at about 16’ but bends with full extension. Some reviewers have said the pole is heavy. By itself, it is not, but – remember high school physics and the power of the lever – the more it is extended, the heavier the end of the pole will seem. I have not tried the pole system with any of the many other extension items that can fit on it. ... show more

  • DOCAZOO - DocaPole Roof and Yard Rake Extension Pole

  • Not Sturdy, Cannot Recommend unless you want a disposable rake or have a lot of duct tape!
Style: Large Rake (No Pole)
This rake as advertised was going to be the best tool in my garage. It would keep me off the roof to take the leaves out of the valleys of my roof. It never worked great as it is designed with the rake adjustment handle pointing down where it scrapes the roof as you pull down. None the less, it was still better than getting on the roof. I used it 3 times and was thrilled with it. The fourth time (4 times!), the rivets popped from the rake alignment bar that is used to adjust the width of your tines. Keep in mind that you have to lift it slightly when it is on a 12 foot pole to get it off the roof. The rivets popped upon a 6 or 8 inch drop from lifting it up the valley. The photos show it back in its natural state, when I pulled it off the roof, the tines were everywhere making it unusable. I can't fault the warranty department for not covering it as it was out of warranty. But come on! 4 Times! That is one expensive disposable rake. I suppose I'll duct tape it into position and continue to use it, but I cannot recommend it, especially for the cost. ... show more
