    • Looks exactly like the product photos and footage! expect some coil whine
the plasma globe looks excellent in person, and to my surprise, closely matched the product photos and footage in terms of output and is honestly more than what I had hoped for. build quality is what you'd expect, it's power adapter coming with a fairly thin cable. the plastic base also makes the overall device somewhat top heavy, but that shouldn't be an issue. the only reason I give this device 4 stars is that you should expect to hear some coil whine coming from the transformer circuit inside that generates the high voltage. it's not super loud, but definitely noticeable in a quiet room even from a couple meters away, sounding similar to an old CRT TV or monitor. my decibel meter showed spikes at 11khz and 14khz, definitely still within the hearing range that it's not just children who can hear it, so if you're sensitive to that kind of thing I recommend considering it when purchasing. on the other hand, if you're the type of person who wears headphones while you work, you've probably got nothing to worry about! overall, a very solid product! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Luckily this is for my son so I won’t be hearing it that much. My ears are so sensitive to high pitch and electrical sounds so I would NOT want this in my room. But I’m giving it 5 stars because it’s exactly as pictured, it’s soooo cool to look at and even more fun to play with. Definitely read the instructions before use, especially if it’s for a child!
