At first I was disappointed because the 500 series didn’t come with all the bells and whistles....until I realized the step up was basically buying all the upgrades with one less motion. He explained to me you don’t need or want everything at once navies you may be loading a very specific kind of ammo. I would recco two accessories for this at the top of your add on list. 1. the strong mount raises it up and gives a better motion for lots of ammo. If you have the money just buy it you won't regret anything. There's a reason why people like these. If the 550 is out of your range then there are other options from other manufactures. I love the manual indexing and I added a Hornady collet bullet drop in 45 and 9mm they work great one these. Keep the primer and bullet tubes filled and easily load 400+ per hour. With my T-7 200 per hour was max if nothing went wrong but of course that seldom happened. The T-7 is a really good press the 550 is leaps above it. ... show more

The Dillon 550 press is a great press. However it is overpriced on Amazon. You can get the same press directly from Dillon Precision for $589.00 which also includes the dies and caliber conversion.

I bought a Dillon SL 900 - from the day 1 it had issues starting from poor installation manual and user guide, I had to pay $400 to Dillons dealer in Wisconsin to get the reloading press configured , the problem never ended there - the machine broke 6 times and every time I had to get a new part from Dillon the quality of construction and the very design is flawed and the cheap plastic parts have no quality control and Dillon expects you to keep dealing with their garbage , IIn the warranty period barely 2 months after purchase I had to send the reloader at my cost that was another $125 I got the press back from dillon and again it broke - I requested a full refund HERE COMES THE FRAUD Dillon has teamed up with Credova a company that misleads that they dont run your credit also they claim to offer pay over time option - Interestingly when i read the fine print turns out Credova changed the terms from finance to lease so all i was doing was leasinga defective shot shell reloader. Dillon and Credova scammed me and made me pay $ 1600 , the press broke again and this time I told Dillon I do not want to deal with this garbage I again sent the press back to them and spent another $ 125 in shipping. Here comes the next fraud Credova reported adversly to Credit bureaus through their other company Monterey Financial contrary to the claims made by them on their website !!! As of now Dillon has the defective press , I got scammed of $ 1600 plus shipping twice $250 plus $400 Dillons distributor charged me and Credova/ Monterey has reported my default to credit rating agencies STAY AWAY FROM THEM BOTH COMPANIES ARE SCAM AND AMAZON SHOULD IMMEDIATELY STOP SELLING DILLON PRECESION PRODUCTS IF THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR IMAGE ... show more
