As usual, this Amazon purchase arrived on the date promised. I had been looking for some neutral colored suspenders to add to my collection and this pair of Dickies Men's 1 1/2 inch Solid Straight Clip Adjustable X Back Suspenders are exactly what I was looking for. I'm especially pleased with the very strong clips that secure the suspenders to my pants. I've had suspenders that had weak clips that would come lose while sitting in a chair and jabbing me, requiring me to fumble behind my back to refasten the clip. The neutral, biege color of the suspenders and unobtrusive, easily operated metal adjusting clips are another fine feature. If you are a fan of suspenders, I can heartily recommend the Dickies Men's 1 1/2 inch Solid Straight Clip Adjustable X Back Suspenders to add to your collection. And for those of you who haven't tried suspenders, this long, hot summer is the perfect time to do so. I bought these for work to use instead of a belt. I've had them a couple weeks now. They are way more comfortable, however, I think the recommendations for button suspenders are well given. The clasps can be a bit difficult to line up accurately. Also, I've had to tighten them up several times; I'm not sure of the durability. I'd spend more shekels on some higher quality ones next time, but these are fine, entry-level suspenders. Four stars for lesser build quality and strength. Update (2023-8-16): One of the clasps got snagged on something and was pulled apart to the open position, bending part of the metal. I was able to bend it back into shape with some needle nose pliers I had handy, but I would've been completely without suspenders if I hadn't been able to make that field repair. I think this illustrates the weakness of the clasp mechanism, though, not only in how easily it can be broken but also how dire a situation its failure can create. I'm not removing any stars for this clasp failure since its weakness was anticipated already in my previous thoughts. ... show more

These Dickies suspenders are very well made. Good thick material and well designed, sewn, and stitched. The elastic is just right to not let my Chainsaw safety chaps sag, but not so tight that bending or squatting becomes uncomfortable to my shoulders. I am wearing these suspenders for the 2nd time. They are not smooth to the touch but seem very sturdy. So far they have not come loose as others have done. They are holding my pants up very securely. I am wearing "heavy blue jeans" and these suspenders are holding them very securely.

Ever since reading Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, I have had the dream of one day looking exactly like Tweedledee. With these suspenders, my dream was realized! The moment I dawned my black shorts, striped t-shirt, and socks, I was whisked away into the fantasy land I had always imagined and dreamed of. My vivid imagination brought me into a world where I was not only Tweedledee, but his twin, Tweedledum! I became so immersed in the characters that I was no longer able to discern who I really was, nor which character I was portraying. According to the police report, my actions terrorized fellow beach goers as my interpretation was “unduly alarming” and “frankly upsetting” enough, to the Sunday school field trip enjoying the sun that day, to warrant a phone call to local law enforcement. I merely remember waking up face down in a storm drain, hands cuffed behind my back, with my stunning new suspenders liberated from my shoulders by the arresting officer. The judge granted me permission to continue my Tweedledum and Tweedledee antics while I served my 10 month sentence in house arrest; however, I was no longer permitted to portray the characters outside of my private property, lest I serve a more severe sentence. I give the suspenders 5-stars and would highly recommend them to anyone else also seeking to portray a suspenders wearing character. My only gripe is that my court mandated ankle monitor does not quite match the color; a mildly annoying feature that limits my ability to truly embrace my Wonderland immersion. ... show more
