Basically I have set up a raccoon disco in my back yard. They like to have the koi with a side of water hyacinth while they're enjoying the strobe light and noise. Even the neighborhood cats aren't bothered by this thing. The unit itself is easily knocked off the stake. This happens every night when the party gets rowdy.     • It failed at its one and only job...
It had one job, and it couldn't even do that. There are a few stray cats that wander though the yard. Two different cats at different times walked right up to this, stared at it, then slowly walked away. It didn't scare them away. It did not repel them in any way. The device was on, verified through my cameras. Cats weren't phased. This will be returned or trashed. It was a waste of my money. ... show more

I bought this to deter the stray cats from using my new lawn as their toilet. The first night I had the blue light going and was hopefully it was working. Next day I checked my yard and there was cat crap. The next night I turn the blue light off and at 4 in the morning I could see the flashing lights so I ran to the window to see a cat next to the "animal repeller" just checking it out. As I started to write this review I heard a cat outside in my yard and chased it off because this thing does not do its job. I intend to return it. (By the way, it does emit a sound. I can't hear it, but my grandkids do.) ... show more

Just like it states in the description, it does exactly what is intended to do. Bought it to keep the deer and tiny critters away from my garden, as they like to have midnight snacks. Pictures above do not display it clearly (as i took them during the day) but there is a button option where it does emit a bright blue strobe light and produces a sound wave whenever something gets closed. ... show more

    • Works for only a day...
I am changing my review of this thing, two months after daily use and I must admit that it has been very frustrating. It works for a day before it stops detecting and to make it work again I have to physically touch its sensors in order for it to wake up . I can't even send it back now otherwise I would. Yesterday I watched a Fox that I have been trying to get rid of, laying down right next to the sensor. How stupid is that to spend money on on something that does not do its job? ... show more

    • Movement Activated Light and Alarm
We haven't quite figured it all out yet, but it is pretty basic Power, Light, Alarm controls. The bright blue light seem to constantly flash, at least in the dark, but the 3-directional white lights and alarm go off only with movement. I like that the alarm is not too loud or too long, but I think will be effective. The blue flashing light is contained within our hillside courtyard, but might be offensive to neighbors, if they had a clear view. ... show more

The flashing lights and initial clicking sounds usually works, but then they secondary "whoop whoop whoop" noise really causes my squirrel friends to scram! They were digging my yard up, dug up my bulbs, tore up my new grass growth...I tried sprays, urine granules, chasing them across the yard like a crazy person...those things did not work. ... show more

Since installing this unit two weeks ago we have not had any damage from the roaming herds of deer in our neighborhood. I do not notice the sound on this unit like I have on others. The flashing white LED’s are the only indication that it is working as we turned off the sound alarm in order to not disturb the neighbors. We also turned off the flashing blue light as it was too bright at night and doing so does not affect the functioning of the unit. The range of the unit will vary as sometimes it turns on 10 yards away and sometime not until right next to it. I have not figured this out yet to see if there is reason based upon light level but it seems to require one to be closer in direct sunlight.
