I'm very happy with CasterMaster casters. Yes, they cost a little more but they are much more sturdy than the hardware store brands. I had a specific purpose for this 5x5 square caster set that's a little different from the usual purpose: I put flour of them under my large heavy wood cutting board on my kitchen counter to keep it from slipping and most importantly to elevate it above the countertop to keep it above any standing water that splashes over from the sink. I put one caster under each corner of the heavy butcher block cutting board and altogether they did the job to keep my cutting board dry and prevent it from slipping. Although these don't fit the shape of my couch legs they still work. I can sit down without the couch sliding backwards. They work so well that when I tried to adjust it felt the couch was built into the floor. I'd say it does it's job well. These little pads are great! We used to have a large rug that our couch was on and it kept it from moving on the hardwood floor. We no longer have that rug and the couch was constantly sliding on the wood whenever we sat down and leaned on the couch. Since we got these pads and put then under the couch feet, the couch hasn't moved since. They are great and they will absolutely keep your furniture in place and prevent any scratches on your hardwood floor. Definitely something that I highly recommend for anyone with hardwood floors and furniture that slides around (when you don't want it to slide). ... show more

Round and square casters just weren't quite right for the odd sized feet on a very old bench that I use to put on my boots. In addition, the feet are cast iron and the bench sits in a boot tray so collected moisture in the tray started rusting the feet, leaving marks. I needed narrow rectangular rubber casters and I found them with CasterMaster. They keep the feet out of moisture and are solid enough to keep the bench grounded. ... show more
