This is a heavy package, over 75#. The components come labeled with tags like you find at a local shopping mart and some will be hard to read, the label gun that was used for ours was worn and almost out of ink. But it's mostly common sense. One of the blister packs that had the hardware in it was sealed with the diagram backwards, but again, common sense. One of the legs was damaged, like it had been smashed into, and a few of the pieces had tread imprints from either a planer or sander. The stain was applied evenly and the varnish looks okay. There are some rough spots where it could have been sanded better and had the varnish applied better, but for $130, for a child, and made of hardwood, I'm happy with it! It was easy enough to assemble with two people, one of the cams was not threaded well so we had to hand tap it to keep the bolt from cross threading. The stairs are comfortable to use and the ladder can be moved to either side of the bed which is great for vacuuming and play time. I can take away the ladder when my son has friends over to keep them from being hurt. I get up on the bed with my son every night, I weigh 134# he weighs 40#. Personal risks: We spaced the mattress supports a bit differently to support a memory foam mattress, (serenity twin from Walmart) the 8" mattress is really only 6~" and it's not too tall to risk rolling out of bed. I bought two of these. One for each of my daughters. They're sturdier than I thought theyd' be. I was prepared to add a cross brace to them, but they didn't need it. Time consuming, but easy to assemble. It took about 5 hours to assemble them both. Would have been faster with two people. Overall very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

This bed came much faster than expected(with no damaged pieces and everything intact) and directions were very simple to follow. I have a very small bedroom and needed something to maximize space. This was a perfect balance between affordability(you can pay in monthly installments) and quality. It doesn’t squeak or wobble(though I do recommend buying rubber floor pads for the bottom of the posters if you have the frame on wooden floors/don’t have a rug big enough), listed in the instructions this bed requires a spring type mattress, but I’m using an 8 pound memory foam and that’s doing just fine. The bed has a 165lb weight limit on the top bunk, I am a 25 yr old 125lb woman and its very sturdy. Other than having someone else holding another piece upright for me while I screwed it in, I put this together almost completely by myself. Like another review mentioned, I do feel like there should be more wooden slats supporting the mattress, but the reason for my 4 stars is that one of the wooden posts did not have one of its holes screwed in, so I couldn’t install one of the wall facing guardrails in, not a problem that effects the overall experience for me, and I wouldn’t request a new piece, but it sucks having something that is technically 98% built. ... show more

It was super easy to put together. Things are labeled and instructions are super EASY to read and understand. I am a single mom, under 5ft tall and was able to put this together by myself. It did take me a couple of hours to do but after my kids were doing pull ups on the front rail before we put that mattress on. In which it was a success. Clearly it is sturdy. Nice wood and finish. The white is a little off colored but it’s not bad at all. Just not pure white. I loved it so much I bought a second one for my other son! I wish I would have seen this one before I ordered my daughters. I would have 3 of them. Contemplated trading my king bed in for one of these. Ahahah. 5 stars. A++++++. Buy it. ... show more

This loft bed is decent for the price. It was easy for a 20 year old girl to put together lol. I haven’t slept in it yet but it does wobble ALOT so I recommend putting a rug underneath it on tile or hardwood.
