Description

Adjustable Boost Controller Turbo Turbocharger/charger Universal 100% Brand New Color: Blue/Red/Black A manual boost controller is a simple mechanical and pneumatic control to allow some pressure from the wastegate actuator to escape or bleed out to the atmosphere or back into the intake system. This can be as simple as a T-fitting on the boost control line near the actuator with a small bleeder screw. The screw can be turned out to varying degrees to allow air to bleed out of the system, relieving pressure on the wastegate actuator, thus increasing boost levels. These devices are popular due to their negligible cost compared to other devices that may offer the same power increase. CNC machined aluminum body Professional Installation is Highly Recommended (No Instruction Included) Features: Adjustable up to 30 psi High quality CNC machined anodized Aluminium Designed to be mounted in your car or under bonnet Universal fit for all turbo charged cars & Supercharged (POSITIVE PRESSURE ONLY, WILL NOT WORK WITH VACUUM ACTUATORS) Fitting kit as photo Package Content: Precision Manual Boost Controller With Positive Ratchet Mechanism Matching Aluminium Precision Diverter Tee High Grade Silicone Hose High Grip Hose Securing Clips Fully Illustrated Instructions

  • Fantastic vacuum controller, apply bearing grease to adjustment screw and o rings
Color: New-Black
I suggest applying bearing grease to the adjustment screw and o rings as I observed some blow by escaping past the adjustment screw(I confirmed it was not from the leak hole on the wastegate port). A ceramic ball would be a nice upgrade, but as shipped the value is great. As a vacuum controller it is great. The included lightweight spring allows for adjustment down to 2 inches of vacuum without issue(under 2 inches there is control, but the adjustments have to be much finer). The ports are 4an strait cut o ring. Replacing the an fitting that has the leak hole is the only modification needed(or plugging the hole). As a vacuum controller, signal to vacuum systems can be delayed by using one of these in the line. For anyone who works on older vehicles I imagine you can appreciate how useful dial control of when signal is exposed to certain components can be useful. I am going to buy another as the first was to test an idea. Now that the test worked, grabbing another can make more sense than investing in certain tuning components as their price quickly is more expensive than one of these after trial and error testing a few different parts. ... show more

  • Performs identical to more expensive hallman boost controler ar less than half the price!
Color: New-Black
It works like a hallman controller, controls boost very accurately, has a steel ball, but so does the lower cost hallman. And at least than half the price its tough to beat! Has been rock solid at 37psi of boost control for 4 months. Top notch product at a cheaper price.

  • Works as it should
Color: Red1
Product works as it should. No leaks or or play in the controller or in the T-valve. Only hiccup was a fitting was too tight on the T and it squeezed one of the seals out. Corrected the seal and it works fine. A good buy for the money.

  • The best that this device could do is delay your wastegate ...
Color: Red1
TL;DR: This valve cannot possibly regulate boost in any way. A typical manual boost controller is a ball spring valve which lets pressure past as soon as it has enough force to unseat the ball. This device is not a ball spring valve, it is a poorly made needle valve that cannot regulate pressure in any way. Needle valves are used to regulate flow, not pressure. Absolutely don't buy this at all. I bought this mainly out of curiosity because of the cheap price. I've made the typical ball and spring valve for boost control from parts acquired at hardware stores many times in the past, which is what I assumed this was. After disassembly, I found that this is simply a needle valve and is entirely unsuitable for wastegate control. The best that this device could do is delay your wastegate from opening for a few seconds, giving you a boost spike that would eventually drop down to wastegate pressure. This device fails at even that, as the taper on the needle seat is so obtuse that there is no way you could get fine grained control on this. I ran some tests with my air compressor and found that this device gets full flow through it pretty much instantly with about one quarter of the rotation of the knob having effect from fully closed to fully open. I went ahead and threw this on my turbo diesel truck which runs a rock solid 12psi under load. With the knob turned 2 turns fully open, I achieved exactly 12psi. The only way I was able to get this device to function at all was to completely close the needle valve, which effectively disabled the wastegate. Had I put this device on any gasoline powered motor, it could have easily destroyed the motor or the turbocharger by running unregulated boost. The build quality of this device is utter garbage. It is a cast part with poorly machined threads, so poor in fact that they had to put little rubber washers under the hose barb so that it wouldn't leak. The knob has cast detent with a spring and ball that engage in the detent to prevent the knob from moving. Unfortunately, during testing, the knob and attached needle worked their way out and disappeared somewhere out on the road. Now I can't even return this device. I had planned on writing a review on how to turn this into a real ball spring valve, but having lost the part I cannot continue. I'd highly recommend not buying this. ... show more

  • Decent but Lacking Instructions
Color: New-Black
Honestly, if you've used a fair few MBCs then maybe this is all straight forward. For those who don't, here is what I learned. The nipple that perpendicular to the body of the MBC goes to your waste gate. The other one needs a boost source. I have a nipple on my turbo, so I connected that to it. The nipple going the same direction as the body of the MBC unscrews and that's how you replace the spring if your application needs it. I don't know what the threshold is for needing to swap the spring, so I guess test with care or consult an expert. The nipple perpendicular to the body has a small hole in the side of it by design. This is to bleed off the access air. From the pictures and product info I didn't show where the bleed hole was. I knew it needed one, but until I had it in my hands, I had no idea where it was. I read a couple reviews about there not being a locking nut or set screw. I agree this is a bummer. The knob for adjusting the boost level does come off, so you could drill a hold and tap a set screw fairly easily. However, I haven't had the setting change on it own in the week or so I've had it installed. I drive a tuned and lowered car. So even on the stiffer springs and higher boost it's not moving on it's own (so far). I do recommend this product, but I knocked down the stars because of the lack of instructions. You'd think they could at least provide a QR code to a video or something or a basic diagram of some kind. ... show more

  • affordable and effective.

works like a charm! easily adjusted and set up, do yourself a favor and buy a boost gauge and some more tubing if you want to be able to dial it in while driving if you cannot go to the dyno to tune it.

Color: Red1
Did the function, easy to install and bumped factory pressure 7 psi to 13 psi . Going to install longer duration cams and adjust psi to 17+ psi. Make sure that you place the air lines in the right flow direction , saw u-tube guys putting lines in wrong flow pattern.
