  • Best of the Best
Style: Combo Kit
I spent a lot of time reading reviews looking for a new drill to replace my 15 year old Craftsman that finally had the Li-Ion battery bite the dust. I had thought about just getting a new battery but some of the things I didn’t like were the weight and the size of the drill. After reading a number of reviews, I narrowed it down to Dewalt’s 791 and 796 products. There is a lot of misinformation about there so I’ll attempt to clarify a few things. Chuck rattle: The chuck on the 791 that I received had something loose in it but it didn’t seem to effect performance. However, there was more chuck movement on the 791 than the 796. The 796 chuck was rock solid with no horizontal movement. Weight: As you can see by the pictures, the weight difference between the 791 and the 796 are not that great (approx 11.2 oz). Length: The overall length difference between the 791 and the 796 is about 9/16 based on the measurements I took. Some measurements on the web show as much as 1.5” difference between the two. This is not the case. This package includes two things that the 791 (and equivalent package) doesn’t include. There is a 4 ah battery providing twice the juice as a normal 2 ah battery. Also, the battery charger with this package will charge batteries twice as fast as the one that comes with the 791. Overall, this is quite possibly the best package you can buy if you are a professional or advanced DIY person. ... show more

  • Insanely powerful combo
Style: Combo Kit
This combo kit is INSANE.. you get the brushless impact driver and the brushless hammer drill.. the impact driver with two 2.0amphour batteries is already 200.. pay an extra 50 bucks and you get an upgrade 4.0amphour battery and a hammer drill. Why wouldn't you get this combo? Comparable to the DEWALT DCK283D2 combo kit, this one is so much more worth it. That one comes with the same impact driver but comes with a regular drill, not a hammer drill. Why would you pay more for less when this is cheaper and gives you a better tool and battery? That's straight silly. This combo exceeds my expectations. It's just crazy powerful. I came from a 12v B&D drill to drive screws and drill holes and what not but when it came to me building my biggest project yet, a workshop shed the size of a mini house, the 12v could not handle it. I wanted to get a cheapo black and decker impact driver for 50 bucks but decided to invest in good tools to last me forever. I'm not a contractor or anything, just a "weekend warrior" or whatever they call them. Drilling holes and driving in lag bolts into solid 4x6 lumber has never been easier. This combo kit will last forever and it's insanely powerful. I probably could have gotten away with a 50 dollar driver, but once you receive the tools and use them, you'll be happy you made the choice to invest in solid tools. I have zero regrets and will update this review if i come across anything. 05/14/2018 UPDATE: 05/17/2018 Drilled holes through about 12 1/8th inch steel brackets. I stacked them up, tied them down, and drilled through over an inch of steel and the hammer drill did a fantastic job. Didn’t heat up or anything. The great thing about the hammer drill is you can turn the hammering portion off whenever you don’t want it. The only negative I have about these tools are the forward, center, and reverse switch. They are super light to the touch. It takes just the weight of your finger to switch into reverse mode. It’s more of a fast soft “clickclick” instead of a solid “CLICK CLICK” Kind of annoying. I wish it was a heavier duty switch, but not annoying enough to take off a star. ... show more

  • Good combo for anyone.
Style: Combo Kit
Pretty powerful drill and impact driver. Was able to remove 110 ft lb lugs with ease (impact driver). Drill does everything well. Only that would be an issue would be the power modes on the impact, mode 1 is not powerful enough to drive 1 1/4" screws in 3/4 plywood. But mode 2 is so powerful you have to be careful or you'll strip the screw (Phillips). Mode 3 is great very powerful. Overall i feel i made a great choice for for a drill and impact driver and am very happy with them. Mainly chosen because there made in the usa. ... show more

  • I love DeWalt quality and durability
Style: Combo Kit
Excellent, excellent, excellent! Absolutely no disappointments with this set. Don't hesitate to buy. I'm a do-it-yourself guy who has built my own home, remodeled another home and use tools whenever I can because I like to. I have many DeWalt tools and have never been disappointed.

  • powerfull
Style: Combo Kit
Nice and light weight. Very power full. It comes with two batteries. One 20 and one 40v. The driver has a switch for 3 different speeds. There is also a light on these and they come on before you start using them making it easy to see what you are doing and they stay on for a little bit once you set it down. I had a Ryobi and the lights came on after you started your project. What good is that? This Dewalt system is great and I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • These are some of the best I've found
Style: Combo Kit
This combo is $ well spent. good steel chuck on the drill and the little impact is a monster. I have chosen the 20v MAX system over the competition. I've used Dewalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Bosch drills over the years and I have had the best tool life and battery life out of the Dewalt. These are made in USA. ... show more

  • Very Powerful
Style: Combo Kit
I have had both Makita and Porter Cable sets of impact driver and drill that I completely wore out. They were good but the DeWalt is the best. I've had the set for 6 months now and used them enough to see how they perform. The run time is really good. The only downside is the 4 amp battery does add some weight. ... show more

  • What an upgrade!
Style: Combo Kit
Upgraded from the B&D tools I bought as a teenager and these are powerful, great battery life. the flashlight is handy (except against metal the reflection can detract visibility would like to be able to cover the light. I just use a small strip of tape on those applications.) They are really ergonomic even when using the large battery. I am not wild about the belt clip, although it is a nice option, it really only benefits a tool belt. for a weekend warrior it doesn't situate well on my regular belt. ... show more
