  • Handy size, plenty of power, no cord!
This is the second one I bought! They only take 1/4 inch shank bits, but there are a lot of bits that will fit! Built in LED lights and clear base, so it’s easy to see what you are routing! Fits in both a fixed and an accessory plunge base, and an edge guide is available that works with it (it’s reasonably priced and works fine!) Easy to hold and fits the average size hand well! Easy to adjust depth of cut with the fixed base, and really easy with the plunge base! The 20 volt Batteries last a good long while. The higher the amp designation the longer the battery works for you! My first mine is over three years old and still going strong! Great little router! Highly recommended!! ... show more

  • Great cuts, easy to use and adjust, great feel.
I've had this DeWalt Cordless trim router for about a month now. Only just got to start using it and I'm very pleased. It's done exactly the job I've envisioned it would do and done it very well. I'm building a large cabinet for my workplace and I'm finishing up the trim on the outside with 3/4 red oak. This thing will go through almost a 1/4 inch with the flush trim bit Diablo makes. Just take your time so the DC can do it's job and the tool doesn't overload. Got a vacuum attachment from a third party and dust collection gets 70-80 percent of the material. I couldn't be happier so far it is SO MUCH BETTER than using my HUGE Bosch router to do this kind of work. I feel a lot safer than with the big one hanging out over these edges and having to be on my knees close to the ground. I also LOVE the factory base that comes with it which has an extended flat edge. This is one of the main reasons I bought this one over others. I hold down the corner of the flat section that points toward the right side of my workpiece with my right hand to hold down the base plate flush to the workpiece as the router rides along. Another great plusnis the break on this router kicks butt. When you turn it off the blade stops. That simple. My 2.3 HP Bosch keeps spinning for about 3-4 seconds after shut off. Super annoying. I once blew up a 25 dollar bit when the blades that we're spinning down hit my metal stand I was using to hold the router off the workpiece it was resting on. Careless mistake I haven't made since but wouldn't have happened with the DeWalt. The only main downside I've come across so far is that the dust collection attachment completely obscures the blade from the top or top/side-down view. It also has to be removed in order to exchange the bits. This is a huge design flaw. Why not just make a sliding door in the attachment that can slide away or rotatenout of the way to expose the collet for use of the wrenches? As it is we're having to take the dust collection attachment off and repace it every time we need to do a bit change. Or at least make it a quick release attachment so that it can be removed or replaced in less than 5 seconds. If you are constantly changing bits every other cut either forgo the dust collection solution, or create your own. Keep this in mind. I'd recommend this product so far. I'll update in the future if there are any issues. BUY IT AND DONT LOOK BACK. ... show more

  • Very good trim router
I have been using a Ryobi trim router for years, it works just fine. My hands are large and the wedge design encourages my hand to start out low and move lower as I use the router. I don't like that. Over the last two years I have been switching over to the Dewalt XR cordless tools starting with the most used ones first. This router has been on my list from the beginning, and I finally got it. This is a brand-new tool, packed in the sealed OEM box, then packed in an Amazon box. The router arrived unscathed. I like everything about this router better than the old one. The cylindrical design feels smaller and more compact in my hand and it does not encourage my grip to drift down when I use it. I did not anticipate the bit depth adjustment to be so much smoother and precise, it is much easier to set just right. Rotation stops immediately when it is turned off. The router itself runs fairly quiet compared to a larger corded router. Still need hearing protection when making cuts though. Not sure why a trim router has speed control other than to match the competitors check list. This is not the machine to use a large diameter bit with. This is an excellent tool, if you are in the Dewalt battery ecosystem this is a worthy addition to your tool collection. ... show more

  • It is very light and works well
I put this planer to work right out of the box, and it works perfectly. It saved me right in the middle of a challenging project from many more hours of sanding.

  • Great portable Router!
I love DeWalt tools and this is one of them. It's not a powerhouse for heavy projects, but excellent for some edging here and there. Completely compatible with all 20v batteries. Adjustable speed is a definite plus! I would recommend this item to hobbyists and part time woodworkers!

  • Great for my job!! Time saver!!
I’ve been doing cabinet renewal with laminate for a good bit now. I use a corded makita for my laminate to wood cut outs and I use this Dewalt with a finish bit for my laminate to laminate cut outs. The router performs well by the time my corners are done it looks like they came out the factory. It is also well built and it is easy to change out bits fast! All in all this thing saves me time not having to drag a cord around and time is money!! ... show more

  • Absolutely love this!
It might just be that all my other routers are older, but this thing is fantastic. It does WAY better than my previous small router, and can do a pretty big cut. Used it on some countertops I recently installed and it was so easy!
