This is the "old school" (I hate that term but you understand what it means) stiff brush that's used with a parts washer to get oily, gritty grunge off of car parts. Very stiff, with dense bristles. If you need a cleaning brush that's not quite as stiff as the usual parts cleaning brushes this one might suit you. I needed a brush that would help remove years of crud but I did not want to abuse the base material. This brush works well for just such a scenario. I use my stiffer cleaning brush for greasy dirt and mud I need to remove quickly from more durable materials like metals and some plastics. This brush works well on painted materials to clean without scratching them too bad. The bristles all stayed in place and they remained pliable and never took a 'set' like some other brushes can do over time. It's a decent brush, just be aware that it is somewhat softer than your usual parts cleaning brushes. ... show more

Yup. Just like most everyone else who reviewed this cheap throwaway bristle brush, the brush head was not crimped or glued to the handle. So, like any burn-yard mechanic, I improvised a fix by drilling a pilot hole through the ferrule and handle and twisting in a screw. You do what you gotta' do.

The only positive thing I can say is the bristles are stiff which making cleaning parts easy. The cons.. When the brush arrived, the brush head fell off the handle. The glue they used to hold the brush head to the handle was not sufficent. I had to install a couple screws to keep the brush head attached to the handle. Would not recommend. ... show more

    • Nice brush with medium bristles
I was very pleased with this brush. It's bristles were not as stiff as previous round brushes used for cleaning car parts. I am using the brush to detail my car interior. The bristles are cut flat at about a 15 degree bevel. To my dismay, the handle separated between the metal collar and wooden handle as I was unwrapping the brush from the shipping envelope. It is only held on by what appears to be hot glue. I just glued it back on. Would I buy another?...yes, of course. ... show more

I purchase for the obvious reason...needed to clean some parts. The second I went to use one, the head with the bristles fell right off the wooden handle. Looking inside the ferrule, I can tell it was manufactured poorly and pulled the second out of the package. Same exact thing happened. Do yourself a solid and buy the Lisle 14000 Parts Cleaning Brush. It is what I was looking for in the first place and is a solid piece of kit. You're welcome! ... show more

Good brush and handle, just what I wanted, but each one of mine came apart at the handle/metal joint. Re glue them before you use them and they work well.
