Bought this for my Sony Bravia X95J as we bought a new house and had included a 5 speaker system in the ceiling. Bought the 5.2 as I ended up having a sound at and sub currently with my TV from our old house.. which I realized later that maybe I should've gotten a 7.2 or even higher for future proofing.. but, I'm happy with the setup, sound is great, and works with the TV, wall setup, and PS5 seemlessly. I'm sure there is a ton more I need to discover with this device.. but truthfully.. I just had geek squad install it for me.. I was loosing more copper wire than saving it when trying to strip the wire myself. You definitely need some banana cables when you get this, so definitely go with the recommendation to bundle when purchasing. I didn't and ended up over spending at best buy. ... show more

It works and sounds better than the more expensive Onkyo 7.2 channel receviver I replaced with this 5.2 Denon. Love almost everything except I cannot operate it behind my cabinet door like my Tivo and AppleTV and other than using a third part remote setup, nothing easy can I use to make it do so. Even with the cabinet open, I cannot get it to turn on or off with the Tivo remote but I can however, control the volume and charge the channel. ... show more

I had a very old used denon avr3300 that's finally stopped working so I replaced it with this and I'm pleasantly surprised. The speakers sound great after audssey tuning and a little custom tweaks. I'm running 2 pairs of older advent as2 tower speakers 2 infinity primus surround speakers a pioneer active sub and an Amazon center channel speaker and I'm loving how my home theater is sounding. I'm finally able to run full Dolby digital surround and it makes movies and shows just that much more immersive. ... show more

Purchased to replace aging Yamaha. When first ran it, setup was a breeze. eARC worked perfectly. The sound coming out of my Miller/Kreisels was magnificent. And the Bluetooth SUCKs. It will connect. Not connect. I have been fighting this for a month. Purchased 3 BT headphones to see if that was the issue. Nawp. Confirmed after MUCH testing and MUCH burned time, it is the unit. Countless Factory resets to get it working again. Yes, am well aware of the HEOS function. That if HEOS is selected, BT will not work. One of the problems is this is NOT clear. There is no clear function to reset BT, get it off of HEOS, clear the memory, whatever. Once it gets locked up, it is locked up. And no amount of fussing short of Factory Reset will solve it. Which I have had to do about every 4 days. Am returning. I can’t keep fighting this. And Denon support… forget it. If I had even an inkling that they KNEW this was a problem and that they were working on the problem and would be releasing software updates, I’d be down with it. But forget it. Yes, this is a basic AVR, so-to-speak, but it has far more features that its replacement. I'm still tweaking the setup and fine tuning the sound but will be totally satisfied with this purchase. My only drawback was I had a speaker box connected to a previous AVR that had additional "main" speaker outputs that sent sound to the speaker box and the speaker box relayed sound to wired speakers to other rooms in the house, which I cannot do with this receiver. ... show more

I’m done with spending up to $3K on AV receivers and then having them go belly up. Decided to buy one that would be acceptable for my desires for the least amount of money. Denon is a good brand and I’m hoping it’ll last well beyond the warranty.

All avr's can get hot. I can recommend NewHail 2Pack Quiet 120mm USB Fan Dual-Ball Bearings, 12cm USB Fan 5V. They can plug right into the receiver's 5v USB port in the rear. Keeps electronics cool.
