  • Cheap version of Lahara with integral design defect -- 15 year plumbing pro
Color: Chrome
Cheap version of the Lahara with an integral design defect. There is a cross washer used to thread the spout on to the sink deck. When the supplied tool is used to tighten the nut, the cross washer spins and gauges the integral 1/4 PEX inside the spout. I barely had to begin explaining this to the Delta phone CSR and she knew exactly what I was talking about. They don't make a replacement spout so if this happens to you you have to buy a new faucet. They call it an installer error and do not cover it. My guess is that this happens on each install except most installers won't notice it. Delta likely thinks it's okay because the portion of gauged PEX is not directly under pressure and so could not flood out a home. I have installed 100s of Delta 8" widespreads over the last 15 years and this is a new low for Delta. The only way I can see to keep the cross washer form spinning is to undertighten the spout or know of the problem in advance and hold the cross washer in place with a needle nose pliers. ... show more

I've just installed two of them, and feel that I can talk about it now. It's one of the cheaper models made by Delta. Valve is indeed ceramic, but it is incredibly small. There's also a tiny silicone divider ring in the valve that, to be honest, I am not sure how well it's going to hold up. At least it'll be easy to replace if it does go bad, if Delta would still make parts for it. And I hope they do--these are backed by lifetime warranty. Water stopper is cheaply made and rattles, and feels objectively worse than the '90s American Standard stopper it replaced. Furthermore, the parts feel decidedly old school (geared mechanism from American Standard that was about the easiest to screw and unscrew vs. multi-part mechanism by Delta that is both at once simple and worse to set up and use). Saving grace by Delta is that it's easy to take apart vs. one-piece setup by the outgoing faucet, and would be easy to replace parts and clean out the stopper once it's necessary to do so. Aerator requires an adapter(!) to remove. It comes with the adapter, and it's made so that it hangs to one of the water supply lines, but it will be a bad day if it gets lost. Water line is stiff plastic throughout--no copper or rubber here, for good or ill. And as others noted, the water line connector to the faucet is a small three-pronged plastic bit that seriously impedes waterflow. Okay, Delta. I am not exactly trusting all these screwless plastic devices; I'll hold you to it if I need a warranty service. All the parts that touch the users (handles, perhaps faucet itself) are made with polished metal, and feels good to the hands. I have reservations, and I just installed it, but so far initial impressions don't look too bad. I'll update this review if things change. ... show more

  • Beautiful - and easy, trouble-free install.
Color: Stainless
This is a lovely faucet assembly that was easy to install. I bought this Delta Lahara faucet set after returning a similar Symmons faucet set that was a but less expensive, but leaked badly in two places. This Delta set went together easily with no leaks and no problems. We have hard water that stains, and that makes calcium deposits, so we wanted a faucet set without fancy detailing that would hold water. This set is easy to wipe off, without cracks and crevices. The most popular one-star reviewer complained about the supplied star washer rotating under the nut that tightens the spout. While installing, I could understand this potential complaint, but I had no trouble at all with holding the star washer in place while I tightened the nut. I had no damage to the PEX tubing. Just use caution and hold the star washer in place with one finger as you slowly tighten the nut. The installation instructions could be a lot easier to read, but I was able to puzzle them out with no problem. If you are not familiar with such an installation, I suggest carefully laying out all of the parts on a table top and dry fitting them together while you read through the instructions. This is a lot better than trying to understand the process while upside down under a vanity. One suggestion I have is to not cut the supply lines shorter than supplied. The instructions suggest cutting them shorter if they are long for your situation. However, the supply lines come with a good quality rubber-gasketed end fitting installed. If you shorted the lines, you have to rely on the alternatively supplied plastic bushings to seal the fittings. While those plastic bushings do work, they are more fussy than the rubber end seals, and require more careful alignment and tightening to prevents leaks. I chose to just loop the long supply lines around under the sink to allow me to use them at the length they were supplied. So far, we are very happy with this Delta faucet set. ... show more

  • Small built in water supply lines mean less water traveling in line.
Color: Stainless
Small built in water supply lines mean less water traveling in line. Result, longer for hot water to get through the line and to the fixture opening. Aerator makes it feel like a full stream of water but the stream is limited by the small supply line size. Supply lines are flexible plastic/rubber. When they go bad you'll need a new fixture because they are integrated into the unit. Not like old school fixtures where the water supply lines could be changed out as needed. ... show more
