I received this computer about a month ago. It has performed flawlessly for a month. Any problems were due to my own lack of knowledge. From the BIOS setup I found the manufacture date as 2015. It's the newest computer I have ever had, so I have a lot to learn. It has not frozen or stalled once that I remember. In appearance it looks like new. It came preinstalled with a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro. It did not come with a reinstall DVD. On the first boot I went through the setup procedure as usual. I checked out some of the hardware. I used Western Digital's Data Life Guard Tools to check out the hard drive and it passed the quick test. The SMART Drive monitor checks out as OK. The installed memory was not up to specifications, but works OK. The BIOS is smart enough to run the machine at the lowest speed memory stick in a stable manor. The refurbisher put in one 2 Gb stick at 1037 Mhz speed and one at 1300 Mhz speed. The specs are 1600 Mhz I think. The machine runs at 1037 Mhz according to the BIOS. So it is slower than it could be. Still it is quite a fast machine with a 3.6 Ghz, quad core processor. The DVD-RW drive works very well also. It has dual layer capabilities and good read and write speeds. I think it is a Toshiba model. It came with a USB WiFi adapter in an anti-static bag. Windows had the drivers preinstalled. It works OK, though I have one that gives greater signal strength. All the ports are OK and there are quite a few. The USB 3.0 is very nice to have. Even my USB 2.0 devices work faster. My Seagate USB 3.0 external drive works very well. The display port works OK, but I couldn't get my TV to work as a monitor; I used a display port to HMDI cable, but couldn't figure out how to program my smart TV. The signal was getting there OK, but the TV wouldn't display it. I bought a little used monitor which works great on the VGA port. The sound is OK and the computer has an internal speaker which works. When I look at Device Manager in Windows, everything checks out OK, no red or yellow marks. Seems to be a very good machine. It can boot in legacy and UEFI mode and you can use secure boot or turn it off. The Refurbisher is SKYTECH USA LLC. I just looked in my orders and clicked on the same item and looked down the page and see that now a different Refurbisher is offering a nearly identical model at a slightly lower price. I guess more than one Refurbisher offers the Optiplex 3020 like this one. So don't know how reliable this other one is. My only experience is with SKYTECH USA LLC. Overall, I am very satisfied with this computer and you can't go wrong for the money. I think it only took about 10 days to come and came a little earlier then expected. I thought it was great, my wife thought it was great, but unfortunately it continues to fail and I'm tired of restoring backups to keep it going. In all honesty this computer has been a failure that I would not recommend anyone should buy. I've been a strong supporter of Amazon, but this is a loser company. I really tried to make this work, but continually restoring backups is not the solution to the problem Do not buy this product. It again failed, Windows 10 wouldn't activate and Microsoft wants $199.00 to activate Windows 10 that I already paid for. ... show more

I bought this PC as an emergency computer to use while I was repairing my main PC. This works in a pinch for the price. Keep in mind what you are buying is OLD HARDWARE. Mine was a 2016 manufacture year PC, that originally had Windows 7 on it that had been reinstalled With Windows 10. These PC's have a very slow hard drive speed, and very slow RAM. If you open more than 5 YouTube tabs in Firefox, you will drag the entire PC down to a halt. Multitasking is not possible. The also have SERIAL (VGA) or D-Video monitor out only. NO HDMI OUTPUT. These barely pass as office PC's at all. Light duty computing only, or use it as a factory terminal. Daily use on this PC - it's not at all suitable for that. ... show more

    • Great Deal, Better than expected.
I bought this a few days ago, along with a VGA cable and 2x8 (16 in total) gigs of ram for an upgrade upon arrival. The package came with a keyboard, mouse, and a dongle that allowed me to access wi-fi out of the box. My computer came with 1 stick of 8gb ram, instead of 2 sticks of 4 gigs of ram (2x4) meaning that I really only needed 1 other 8 stick of ram instead of two to make 16 gigs of ram, which may be useful to keep in mind. After installing the ram and booting up the computer and playing around for a bit, I can honestly say this is a great deal. It runs youtube and other websites very well on google chrome, and it games just as well. Games like tf2 and Borderlands 2 run as smooth as butter on medium settings, and even a newer game like honkai star rail runs surprisingly well and crisp on lowest settings. I haven't tried incredibly demaning titles such as doom eternal, dark souls, or overwatch 2 yet, but from what i have done in the few days i've had it, i can honestly say i am very satisfied and slighty pleasantly shocked for the value. I currently have a ssd adapter on the way so i can install a old ssd i have lying around for faster boot times and better overall speed, and an old gpu for better gaming. Out of the box, it's already fairly decent for browsing, plus light to moderate work and gaming. And with the added freebies, (mouse, keyboard, and dongle), it's perfect for someone who hasn't previously owned a pc (you will need to buy a vga cable however to connect your pc to your monitor, as it's not included). And with some upgrades, as long as you keep your expectations realistic, you might surprise yourself with how well this pc can handle moderate to somewhat high-level tasks if you're willing to buy the extra components (more ram, an ssd, a gpu, etc.) Overall, if you need something for browsing and light tasks or gaming, this is perfect out of the box. However, if you're willing do a bit of research and invest an extra few dollars into upgrades, you can elevate it into something even better. ... show more
