  • WOW!!!
Due to a health condition, I cannot eat carrots. That being said there are some recipes that call for some carrots, like soups, and stews. If I buy carrots I end up throwing most of them out. I got this to keep on hand and believe me it's great. I made Irish Beef stew using these carrots and it is delicious. ... show more

  • These are great in soups!
I would buy carrots and they would go bad before I would use them all. These are great! Perfect for soups or throwing carrots into any dish! I can’t wait to try other items, I have celery and carrots so far!

  • Wonderful in everything or on their own.
In casseroles. Soup, side dish... good in everything as long as you give it enough time to rehydrate.

  • Freeze-dried carrots.
The can was well filled.

  • 24 carrot gold !
. . . Many more than 24 carrots, actually. This is a L-A-R-G-E can of finely diced carrots, very well dehydrated. I powder them in my coffee grinder, mix with dehydrated bell peppers from the same source that I grind the same way, and keep a jar filled with the powdered mixture. It really works, so gets added by the heaping tablespoon into sauces, soups, dressings, scrambled eggs and omelets, pastas, and anywhere I want to add a natural veggie bump to whatever I'm making. You could use it, with or without the bell peppers, in carrot cake, meatloaf, smoothies, you name it. It incorporates and rehydrates perfectly in every dish every time. Pre-soaking is absolutely unnecessary; in fact, it absorbs a bit of liquid in anything I want to make less soupy or runny, so it's a convenient, flavorful, and nutritious way to thicken any dish. All this with zero peeling, chopping, or trim to discard, and no space-wasting, fast-wilting bunches of carrots in the vegetable bins. I think you'll appreciate saving the money, too. The can comes with a plastic lid that you use after you open the standard metal lid; there are a few desiccant packs mixed in which I keep right there in the can until empty. This stuff lasts forever at room temp without going bad, but you'll use it up and reorder long before that. I never want to be without it. ... show more

  • Carrots
They take a lot longer to rehydrate than I thought probably will just start drying my own. I do like them for winter supplies

  • prepper food, pantry food, convenience food-- all good stuff from Augason Farms
Been buying a few items here and there from Augason Farms, usually two at a time (2 is 1, 1 is none). I love their selection and quality. I try to buy when something goes on sale. Very important to me to have "mire poix", so I keep dehydrated onions, celery, and carrots on hand--goes a long way toward flavoring a lot of foods, and amping up nutrition. As well some peppers, eggs, and a few other basic staples that make my life easier. Veggies are nice for tossing into soups, muffins, etc. When I cant get fresh, or I dont feel like chopping, the dehydrated stuff is great to have. Also, whatever next is on our Apocalypse Bingo Card, I just want to be ready. ... show more
