I used to play tennis in high school, and I loved it. Over the years I've not played tennis nearly as much as I wanted to given work and life schedules. Pickleball is something that I had heard of a couple of years ago but never really looked into it. Now, it's the newest sports fad, and this set from Deerfamy is one that I ordered to get me back into something that is like tennis. This set comes with two lightweight pickleball rackets, two indoor court (orange) and two outdoor court (yellow) balls. There's also a carrying case that everything fits into. After my first attempt at playing pickleball, I have to say it's a tougher sport than I thought. If you're familiar with tennis, there's a LOT of fast-paced volleying. That was the part of tennis that I hated and the main reason I stayed back on the baseline. I'm not a net player, but pickleball sort of forces you into that. The equipment from Deerfamy was good at helping me practice. It's lightweight and had a nice grip on the handle. I had control of the racket when swinging, so I can't blame the racket. I'm just not good at pickleball.... yet! :) ... show more

If you (or someone you gift this to), is interested in pickleball, this is a nice starter set. We paid this much for each factory-second high grade paddle, then had to buy a bag and balls. It will be a lot of playing before we can tell the difference in paddles! At this point in your skill, if you are looking at these inexpensive sets, get any set that looks nice (carbon fiber or fiberglass), and get out there! ... show more

We have been waiting for the snow to melt to use these on our nearby tennis courts. We've never played pickle ball before, but it seems to be the in thing these days. It's actually pretty fun. This set is pretty fun. It came with two paddles and several balls. The paddles don't appear to have any dead zones and send the ball over the net with appropriate amount of effort. The balls are lively enough. The kit has a nice bag to hold all the pieces between uses. This is a fun beginners set if you are thinking about getting into this sport. This pickleball paddle set has everything you need to get started. 2 paddles, 2 outdoor balls (yellow), 2 indoor balls (orange) and a nice bag to carry it all around. I'd say this set is good for beginners. Here is why.... The paddles are decent. They are graphite and quite light at 7.4oz/ea which makes them very easy to handle. The grip is nice, but the face has a small-ish sweet spot and makes sort of a hollow sound when you hit square - so the rebound force is a bit lacking. That combined with the light 7.4 oz weight means you'll have good control, but you won't be able to get a lot of power from them. The balls are surprisingly nice. Mid-hardness outdoor balls that you won't be embarrassed to pull out of the bag at the court. They're not too soft, nicely balanced and don't have large seams like some cheaper balls have. The bag is a nice extra too. Overall I'd say this is a pretty nice set to get you started down the pickle-ball path. Definitely beats wood IMO! ... show more

Great set! We got this set and another one and watched some videos on how to play and we were off to our public outdoor courts on a warm early spring day. It worked for us total beginners, playing with 4 people was a lot of fun. A lot more low key than tennis, that is for sure. Pickleball is definitely worth checking out and this set helped a lot with that. There are quite a few outdoor public courts in my area, and my gym was just starting to convert a couple indoor tennis courts to pickleball courts before the pandemic hit, so lots of options depending on your area. I am a beginner at Pickle ball. I’m happy that I spent a little less so I can learn. These are performing great and holding up well. The bag is helpful to keep the paddles together although it all goes inside a backpack along with the balls. Good beginners set which I believe I will get a lot of usage from. ... show more
