Initially, when I opened the package I was greeted with a smell that is similar to certain plastics. The leather itself was not soft and honestly I thought it was fake. Now that I've had it on the phone for 3 to 4 days, the smell has retreated leaving only the inviting leather aroma I first expected. Even though I have had softer cases in the past which will more easily gain a nice patina, hopefully, what this case lacks in "soft" leather will be made up for in durability. Lastly, the feature I enjoy the most about this case is the protection lips. There is enough clearance over the screen + protector so that laying face down, there is still clearance. This is important in protecting the screen and protector from cracks or scratches. The other protective lip is around the triple camera. I bought another case thinking this one was going back to the seller, but after inspecting the other case, it is clear the Decoded case will protect the triple camera better with its metal insert. Most other cases will simply have a cutout in the leather, which will bend and potentially allow damage to come to the cameras. Since that is really the only point of the new iPhone, I'd say this case actually deserves 5 stars. ... show more

Case is quality made and fits my iPhone 11 Max Pro very well. It doesn’t add any bulk and doesn’t slip like some of the Apple leather cases I’ve purchased in the past. Definitely recommend as an alternative to the higher priced leather cases.
