    • Really, fun...but I miss the Open World.
The map is broken up in little small areas. So it loses that open world feel of the first 2 games. Other than that the story, characters, locations, weapons were a total blast. It's an easy platinum trophy for my trophy hunters out there.

Here's my social media mini-review. -------- I'm not sure anybody expected this to be good; or at least THIS good. I loved Dead Island and DI Riptide, even though I recognized they were pretty janky. DI 2 isn't perfect (a few minor glitches, plus missing detail like mirrors without your reflection, a big wall of DVD cases with many copies of the same few titles), but it feels big-budget, triple-A, and well-polished; surprising, given the development hell and multiple studios it apparently went through. But wow was it worth the wait. I was hooked at the start but just a few hours in when I made it to the movie studio level, I was totally in. It's set on everybody's favorite island, Los Angeles. Seriously though, this lends way more variety to the environments and missions. Fun story. Great characters. SUPER fun gameplay. I loved it. ... show more

Took a more comedic less serious approach but still a great game. Graphics are good and the gore is the best we’ve gotten in a zombie game. Combat is good too just don’t expect much from the story. My biggest gripe with the game is the combat card system I much prefer the original games level system which is similar to something like far cry 3 or fallout. Love this video game very much. Had the opportunity to get it during Black Friday for cheaper and worth every penny. Have been playing it for hours nonstop. Love the graphics, the amount of weapons you can use on the zombies and etc! You can play single or multiplayer as well throughout the game which is always a bonus.     • Eh not the best
So I love zombie survival type games but this one I feel like I have to force myself to finish playing ( still haven't finished it and had to take a break from it). It started out promising but quickly lost it's appeal. It feels a little cartoonish at times, definitely not a serious anxiety driven edge of your seat feeling. It's kind of just a button masher with minimal skill actually required. The worst part to me is the game feels very linear. Your in a somewhat of an open map but you have missions with pointers that tell you exactly where to go like your walking down a fixed path. So basically if I was to sum up the feel of this game it's walking down a street following a pointer, encounter sporadic zombies along the way that are more or less harmless, walk up to them and mash buttons till they die, walk down more streets to objectives, solve simple and inane puzzles that feel forced and contrived (you know the same puzzles from every other game with a new skin like hit the levers in a certain order! Like seriously the 90's called and wants their puzzles back), more or less do that for hours on end while you occasionally interact with cartoonish NPCs. Sound exciting? It isn't. The original was pretty great which is was led me to buy this one. This one is very much disappointing. I paid next to nothing for this on sale and got painfully bored of it after the first few hours. Now it feels like a chore to play. I still have to give it three stars because I feel like it is at least a well made game from a technical standpoint. Conceptually speaking I just think it's lacking. A different type of person or a younger audience might enjoy it maybe but I think most will get bored quickly. ... show more

Waited so long for this game! I really enjoyed it. The story and side missions were really fun. I have about 70 hours in the game and I got the platinum trophy. Really satisfying slashing up zombies and how bloody it gets. Really recommend if you like gore and zombies of course
