Description

Few people can match Barbara Gordon in terms of raw willpower and determination. Barbara has always been a person of action. In her mind, backing down is never an option. Having one of Gotham City’s most well-known police commissioners as a father had a massive impact on her. Jim Gordon gave his life for Gotham, and now she wants to make sure it wasn’t in vain. After a face-off that put Barbara in a wheelchair, she became Oracle, a powerful information and communications expert. With extensive training and rehabilitation, she recovered from her wounds, and returned to active duty as Batgirl. Barbara is highly trained in a variety of fighting styles, such as kickboxing, capoeira, and jiu-jitsu. Her signature weapon is the tonfa. Barbara also displays great skill when it comes to hacking or coding in computers and technological systems to dig for information.

  • I want to love it
I've bought 3 or 4 different Batgirl figures over the years, made by different people over the years and they all seem to have same damn problems. This one is my favorite but no different. My main problem is she can't hold her weapon. The grip on tonfa is huge, getting it into the hand stressed the hell out of her thumb which was hard to tell at first. The way here wrists are designed with just hinge I only found one pose that looked OK. And there is no way to store her tonfa on her. Than the stand it's same as every other McFarland stand but the peg is to long or more likely she is shorter than normal McFarland figure less room in foot for standard peg hole. Not end of world thing but I found she is not as stable because of this and falls over alot. I like her this is one of my favorite designs but she has same damn problems as every Batgirl before. ... show more

  • Beautiful figure.
Mcfarlane does it again. The attention to detail he's known for really shows here. Nice figure, cool costume and very pretty face. this will be a great display piece.

  • Open box but still great
I get to have a nice piece to collection. She was an easy open and the strips were no longer there but it's all good. Thanks for the deal

  • The worst Batgirl figure McFarlane Toys has done so far
I collect Batgirl figures, and I believe this "Gotham Knights" is the worst Batgirl figure McFarlane Toys has done so far. It's pretty, but that's it. McFarlane's first Batgirl figure ("Art of the Crime") had a slightly big head and odd facial expression, but otherwise it was a well-designed, durable figure that would hold many poses. The figure's design looked as if the figure stepped off the pages of the "Art of the Crime" story in the Batgirl comics. Impressive! The second Batgirl figure ("Three Jokers") looked pretty good, but it was made of a very light plastic that doesn't hold poses in general. Its design was a bit "off" from the comics. The cape was way too short, and the belt and boot designs were wrong. The facial expression also was "off" because it seemed really, really mad. In the story, Batgirl is stern but caring, striking a helpful balance between Red Hood's violent anger and Batman's judgmental but detached nature. Yes, Batgirl gets ticked off in the story here and there, but nothing like that figure portrays. That brings us to the third Batgirl figure. The overall design is beautiful. However, the figure cannot stand on its own with or without the stand that came with it. Batgirl's body is way too thin for an athletic adult (Batgirl is around 21 years old), and the feet are freakishly tiny. The plastic is a bit heavier that the second figure's, but the design renders that point moot because physically the figure is too unbalanced for staying posed on a shelf. Also, the figure cannot hold its weapon very well because the weapon's handle is too big for the figure's hands. This will probably be the last McFarlane figure I will buy. ... show more

  • I received the unpainted version originally
Update: A replacement was sent about a week later and it was painted! Looks great, very good articulation. Added a star to the rating, toy is 5 stars, this listing of getting a random version 2 stars. Original: I preordered this Batgirl last year, and received a different figure than pictured. It seems that Amazon is shipping the chase figure which is gray and unpainted randomly. I'm a toy photographer, not a collector, so an unpainted figure is of little use to me. I'm returning the gray figure and I hope the replacement is the correct one. If you're a collector and want a gray one, you might get lucky! I'll revisit this review once I receive a replacement that I can open. ... show more

  • I guess some people don't know their own luck!
I specifically pre-ordered multiple of the Batgirl to get the rare chase, but with no luck! The people who write the reviews that get the chase really are the only ones to get it, It's not a normal occurrence, though it may seem like it. Negative is always louder. Only a handful are Platinums out of the many thousands produced. It does in fact say in the description which figure will have an Artist Proof variant and that you may receive one, so my advice is to not pre-order those specific figures, and leave pre-ordering for us that DO want the chase. EVERY normal McFarlane figure is easy to find in stores or order online after the pre-order window when the Platinums are gone. These Artist Proof Platinum figures are so cool, they bring out every little detail in the sculpt and come with a different trading card... so I'm upset I wasn't able to get one! Especially of Gotham Knights Batgirl, who was one of my most anticipated figures! I might try again. ... show more

... show more
