  • If You Go Lithium - Go DC House (Read to End)
Two years ago, I bought a 2010 EZ Go RXV golf cart from a less-than-honest source. In the months that followed, I either replaced or repainted every single part of it (I mean everything) except its batteries and motor. While the seller claimed that its 48V power pack, consisting of four 12V Trojan 150 Ah batteries connected in series, was just 3-years old and should have a 5-year minimum life expectancy, it began yielding noticeably less range following each charge. So, I Googled this and found out that a manufacturing date code is stamped atop the negative of each battery. Mine are all stamped with “J6” and. researching further, I found this to represent a 2010 date of 14 years ago. In other words, they were as old as the cart itself and were long over-due for replacement. This left 2 obvious choices; (1) installing a new set of Trojan batteries that would have a price tag of approximately between $1,400 (DYI) and as much as $2,500 (dealer-installed), or (2) read up on using a Lithium alternative. Once I did the research, I decided on a 48V Lithium solution. When surfing Amazon, there are many available choices, mostly Chinese made, even with those sporting the names of US companies. Fortunately, I decided on a package from DC House. It included a 100Ah sealed LIFeP04 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery, an 18A charger, a color Bluetooth connected monitoring display and a smart phone interface. The package cost was just under $1,000 on Amazon and included free shipping. While there are a couple of similar packages for less money, the majority mostly cost more and / or have one or more probable disadvantages, such as the location of the (+) and (-) terminals, their dimensions, lack of ability to directly get support, etc. Installation was a breeze. In fact, the hardest part was removing and disposing of the old batteries. They weighed about 90lbs. each including inter-connecting cables. Lifting them up 3’ to clear the cart body was definitely a 2-person job. Furthermore, as a DYI project, safety glasses rubber gloves and clothing that protect against battery acid. Also, prior to removing any connections, take photographs that clearly show their wire colors, placement, and anything else that might ensure their accurate return to service. Meanwhile, but for two shipping issues and moving the cart’s controller battery settings from AMG to Lithium, the DC House package was a drop-in with plenty of room to spare (see photo). Upon arrival, the battery’s packaging was damaged, and its display screen was crushed. So, I sent an e-mail with photo to DC House and a new display was immediately on its way with prepaid express shipping and they credited my Amazon payment method $50 for the inconvenience. Secondly, the package’s $160 charger was shipped separately at the same time as the battery. However, after several delayed arrival UPS message, I asked DC House to trace it. Within 2 hours, they had the answer and not only immediately shipped a replacement, but they also credited my Amazon payment method with another $100 for the inconvenience. In fact every communication with DC House has received a prompt and any necessary action and their product quality is superb. A few more things to know; this process can remove 280 pounds or more from the weight of your cart. As a result, this 100Ah replacement actually outperforms the original 150Ah package in terms of cart acceleration, smoothness of ride and time between charges and replenishing battery distilled water is a thing of the past. With regard to disposing of the old batteries, local ordinances may make it serious crime to do so anywhere but an official disposal center. Here in Florida, it’s a free service ... show more

  • 2013 Club Cart - Great replacement for the 6 lead acid batteries!!
Had to make modification to the battery compartment by cutting out the center divider in order to fit the battery into the space. Added a 48V to 12V inverter and a 12V fuse block in order to connect to the lights and horn. The single lithium battery has plenty of power for the cart. Able to play 5 rounds of golf on single charge. Should have made the swap a long time ago!! So much easier and cleaner to maintain. Cart is about 300 lbs lighter, runs better and cost way less than buying the lead acid batteries. ... show more

  • Solid Battery
Bought this battery to replace the lead-acid ones in my 2006 Club Car. The quality seems solid and the price was the best around. The hardest part of the installation for me was relocating the cart's electronics console away from the center of the battery bay to make room, but that's not the case for many carts. The overall weight reduction made a huge improvement in the handling and acceleration, compounded by the consistent power output across the state of charge (doesn't fade like lead-acid). I'm looking forward to not having to charge it for hours after every use like before. There's also no water levels to maintain or worry of damage from freezing temperatures. The battery was packaged well and arrived without damage, with the exception of the small display which was loose in the box (cord was partially severed and corner of display was damaged). Contacted DC House through Amazon and they replied quickly promising to send a replacement display from China. In the meantime I can use the phone app to monitor all sorts of stats in real time. ... show more

  • Very satisfied!
Excellent battery, 6 months in and battery working great. I’m in NC and cold weather will drain it quickly. It has never left me stranded, but will go from 80% to 0% in extremely cold weather. 2015 Club car precedent, fairly easy installation..

  • Great Golf CART Lithium Battery
Product came very quickly. I swapped out my 6 lead acid batteries and replaced it with this one lithium battery. I already see the benefit because we can go 3 or 4 hours with our golf cart without recharging. This has been a great purchase so far.

  • Absolute zero customer service
Battery install was easy and it worked great until it didn’t. In less than 2 months the battery stopped charging. When you attempt to call support the message is we are not accepting calls at this time. When you try and live chat nothing happens. I’ve been trying to contact someone, during business hours, for the last seven hours with no response. This has me very worried that I’m stuck with a $900 brick. ... show more

  • 5 months in: battery dies with monitor showing 65% remaining. Reached out through Amazon for help.
Replaced lead acid batteries in my 2011 EZGO TXT. All arrived in good working order. Install was easy once I figured out the wiring. Had to install a 12 volt reducer to power my lights and other accessories. I did have to grind down the partition verticals meant to separate the old 8 volt batteries. Once I did that the new battery fit perfectly. What a difference. Acceleration is smooth and fast and with the 300 lb. weight reduction, I actually had to adjust my driving habits. No need to put the peddle to the metal any more, especially when taking turns. Played my first 9 holes of golf and consumed only 9% of the battery's capacity. Probably will only have to charge every 7 to 10 days. (after 4 full rounds of golf) I did have some questions during install. Support was very responsive and answered everything. The Bluetooth monitor is excellent. No wires to connect to the battery. It establishes connection automaticly every time I turn the cart on. Haven't downloaded the app yet. Mounted the Charger on board after removing the old charging harness in its entirety. I had to cut the blue wire at the charging port and connect it to the battery's positive terminal for the cart to run. I was skeptical at first about all the hype around these LI batteries. I needed to replace my old batteries anyway so I decided to take a shot and I'm glad I did. So far everything about it has been great. Time will tell on their longevity. ... show more
