Price was excellent. Product very close to the factory model; elect. connector on Solenoid comes as flat, spade terminal; easy enough, cut off factory plug and crimp on insulated flat spade lug connector. On 4 wd jeeps, I'm sure this area is much to access from laying on back position.

My 204 jeep TJ was slow cranking so I thought it was the battery, then read Jeep forums that suggested the starter maybe the culprit. After comparing prices from auto parts stores vs Amazon, I chose amazon. They delivered next day. I installed it in about 15 minutes. Remember to disconnect your battery negative. Purchased this starter for use in 2004 Jeep Wrangler, installed in December 2017 - came back 5 years later to say its still working well!...although the price has certainly changed since then as well (I purchased for $55, item has outpaced inflation significantly). Other than that, no complaints!

    • Fixed problem
2006 Jeep Wrangler with a slow/no crank condition. Replaced battery that was 3 years old but had the same issue with a new battery. Installed started (very easy install) and now it cranks quick and starts easily. Nice product.

    • 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 L
Installation in my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 L was simple. From underneath the hood: Disconnected battery. Removed power (I believe 12mm socket) and ground (pulled off spade connecter) from starter. From underneath the Jeep: Removed the two mounting bolts. One in front and one in back of the starter. (9/16 and 15mm socket) Removed old starter and mounted new starter. Underneath hood: Reconnected power and ground to new starter. Reconnected cable to battery. I did not jack up my Jeep (which would have made it easier) and still had no problems getting to it. Starter is located on the passenger side around the area of the front tire. Very simple replacement. I was in no hurry and it took me about 15 minutes from start to finish. The starter works very well. Turns over much quicker than the old one. I installed this on 5/25/19 and will update this review if I have any issues with it later on. Very happy with price I paid. ($64.27 on May 21, 2019) ... show more
